      Eyes keep opening

I have an issue when I take a nap during the day. Sometimes I can snooze with no problem, but when I'm trying to fall asleep, even if I have my eyes wrapped up with two blindfolds, my eyes will eventually creep open and I'm awake because I'm aware of the slightest amount of light.

The problem is that I'm "aware" of the surroundings now with my reality checks, and it's hard to be "aware" with reality checks and at the same time just let yourself drift off in the middle of the day.

      The answer is: tape.

My only serious advice would be to get some black-out curtains, they work pretty damn well. That way if your eyes open, it'll be pitch black anyway.

      Other than that...good luck!

Yeah I'm going to need something so that if I open my eyes, it will be the same as if I were to have my eyes closed. I need to kick this habit of opening my eyes,

You might be having the same problem I had a long time ago. When I first started out the dreams seemed kind of dark like my eyes weren't open all the way. So I would try to make things clearer by opening my eyes in my dream even more.

But all I accomplished was too open my physical eyes and wake myself up. I learned to see with my mind and not my eyes in the dream. It also gave me the ability to see the dream from my dream body or any other perspective so I could even look down on the scene and see myself in it from any angle.

Note: remember how you are opening your eyes. That is one of the ways to wake yourself up from a dream so you can recall it later. But that is for later.

You described me to a "T". I think I'm seeing light, or a dream, and I "look" at it to see what it is, and oops -- my eyes are open and I'm awake.

Same here. I have had lucid dreams before, with varying degrees of length and clarity, but recently I just can't seem to be able to have a good one.
I either wake up within seconds of becoming lucid or, I slowly shift to my physical body (just like described here, senses fade, vision turns black) and when I try to see again all I do is open my real eyes.

Any tips from the pros as to what to do with your eyes? Should I try to keep them wide open all the time (no blinking), or should I let them be (as in accept some fuzziness)?

BTW, I have read mcwillis Deepening and Maintaining tips. VERY good stuff, that's the reason I joined.

I wouldn't even be able to fall asleep like that. I have a hard enough time just "relaxing" as is.

      I meant whilst LD-ing.

Some of my problems were solved by applying the Deepening and Maintaining techniques, but I forgot to keep using them so I woke up.
I have had more than one dream during the night, but I can only recall the first. I naturally noticed that it was in a dream, and I immediately began to look and feel the objects around me whilst trying not to become overly excited. This helped a lot. Then I went full Moses and parted a big river, after crossing it I returned and made all the water flow trough the air somewhere over a hill. I spawned a car, lifted it with telekinesis, and got in and drove. This is what I fear caused me to wake up. I will avoid driving from now on, and try to repeat RCs and mcwillis tips.

All in al it was a pretty good LD, and I did not suffer the problem me and the OP had before. So I recommend him to try those methods too.
I think I had a second LD during last night, but it was either too short or too fuzzy to remember. I dont remember doing an RC after my first awakening either.

I think it might be good to mention that I also tried for the first time to activate my left hemisphere before going to sleep last night, might have helped when I realised that I was dreaming in my first LD.

I usually only remember the last, unless I write them all down. When I wake up to go to the bathroom (which I usually do several times during the night anyway), I write my dream down on a piece of paper next to the toilet.
