Speech and body paralysis

Hi guys :)

This week I have had 2 dreams within one dream and another was on a separate occasion a few days prior to this. I find myself completely paralysed sometimes stuck in my track, and my sleeping body can feel this immense tingling sensation whilst my dreaming body is completely stuck. It is a LD however i cannot speak, and it is so slurred, its like im fighting with myself to walk, pick up my phone in the dream to see the time to check if its a dream or not, however i believed it to be so real i frightened myself. Then i am able to compose myself for a second and the words come out slurred and my limbs heavy. I want to be able to talk and walk but the paralysis is so frightening as its a completely out of body sensation. I try to pull out of it and tell myself i to move etc but im fighting with myself...

It sounds to me like you are teetering on the edge of being a sleep and being awake. Basically, you are within your lucid dream, but your mind is still "connected" to your physical body. Instead of fighting yourself, take some deep breaths and try to calm your dream self as much as possible. Don't move much, just sit there, look around your dream scape, and tell yourself "I'm dreaming right now. I am within my dream." This can help you engage in your dream environment and break the connection to your actual body. Try not to think so much about your physical body and the paralysis. In fact, ignore them altogether. I'd suggest performing a few stabilization techniques if the dream is blurry. Try rubbing your hands together and imagining your dream scape becoming clearer and clearer. You are really, really close and the last step is breaking that connection to your physical body. Reading all this probably ameks it sound more complicated than it is. The easiest way is just keep practicing and keep gaining that experience. Try not to fight yourself so much and just engulf your mind in the dream as opposed to worrying/thinking about your actual body and the sensations it is feeling (SP, etc). Adding onto what KingYoshi said, I think you're focusing a lot on your Physical body while you're in a dream. Try to focus solely on the dream and your Dream Body instead, and pour all your awareness into your surroundings and stimulate your senses in your dream. That might help you out with control. Thankyou for your reply much appreciated, I know I am dreaming and I remind my dreaming self that I know this is a dream, I however its like this push and pull that is going on its so very difficult to describe, it feels like a dark energy, the only way i can describe it was as if there was a ghost in the room which i was trying to move in, so in the dream, i went back to bed and tried to sit up, tried to look at my phone, which read 00:00. At this point i knew i was dreaming and then i end up falling into a normal sleep as im so overwhelmed by what has just happened. I think its a process of testing myself. The sensations you described were tht it was sleep paralysis, but it felt more than paralysed it felt like a massive energy force was sucking the life from me, it was dark and black like a dementor type thing. It made me hesistant to want to continue in the dream. I have had a few successful journies where i travelled to new places and the second one i was lifted out of my body and i was hovering above the floor ion my bedroom, i felt as if i had fallen off of the bed when ireality i was LD! :) i was very happy and felt so cool! :D but .... these last two i dont know whats wrong? Does lucid dreaming have any affect on the energy of the room i am in?

Without getting into the BD (Beyond Dreaming) side of things, which isn't my area of expertise, I'll say a few things. SP/Sleep Atonia and lucid dreaming, in general, can provide some very interesting hallucinations. When most people think about hallucinations, they generally think about sound/auditory and visual hallucinations, but there is a plethora of hallucinations I have experienced. A very common one with SP, is the sense of fear/evil/dark energy/etc. This doesn't always happen, but it is a really common one. If you can recognize/acknowledge this as a hallucination, you breeze right on through it like any other hallucination.

In your case, your in the dream, but your not all the way there. You still have that connection with your body, which while you are sleeping, is in full blown SP. So, being connected to your actual body is causing you to feel the effects of SP, the intense vibrations and the "dark energy" you spoke of. This is normal, so no need to worry, with some practice you will be able to fully get into that dreamscape and break the connection between mind and body. Of course, you won't experience this all the time, but it does happen every now and then. Just try to recognize that its a hallucination and there is no need to worry, feel afraid, or freak out. Stay calm and try to put all of your thoughts and energy into the dream environment and ignore these hallucinations/etc.
