I can't walk!
Hello,
I've recently been having 3-5 lucids a week but I have a recurring problem - I can't walk. It's not that I have a limp or it's painful, it's like there's no friction. My procedure is to firstly stabilize my dream and center myself but I still cannot move! I just keep walking/sliding on the spot. Does anybody else have this problem and/or a way to fix it?

Yes, i have this problem too. When this happens, i can only walk or run backwards. In other dreams, i keep tumbling around. I found out that, in my case, it's because of the position that i'm sleeping. Sometimes this influences my dream.
But i guess, if i had a great lucidity on those dreams, i could make myself fly or hover around. No need to walk in a dream. So, my suggestion is, if you can't walk, focus on flying, hovering or even be transported to where you are.

The same happens when I try to fly! I don't shoot off I stay in the same spot. However, I can control how high/low I go! Sleeping position? Really? Well I sleep on my side because that's what's comfortable for me but I'll try on my back tonight.

Or on your stomach. I sleep on my stomach and it's more comfortable for me. I guess sleeping on my bacj is what makes hard to walk/run/fly.

I see, thank you! I'll give it a shot.

I haven't had this exact problem but I've had ones I would consider similar... What helped me is to try to visualize and expect what's supposed to happen -- micromanage the situation so to speak. For example if you're trying to walk, expect the ground to move beneath you and feel the friction and think about how it feels when you walk in waking life. Be confident about it (think "this will happen"). Maybe pay attention to how walking feels to your feet while you're awake, and try to mimic that feeling in the dream. Also you could try looking at a reference point (house, car, road, tree, etc) and visualize/expect yourself getting closer to it every step you take. It might be difficult at first but after a few times your brain should make the desired changes and it will come naturally after that, or at least much easier.
I was having a non-lucid dream once where I was running and everything seemed to be working properly but I wasn't getting any closer to anything (it wasn't a friction issue like you mentioned). It caused me to become lucid and I used the reference point method to fix the problem.
Best of luck :)
