      Trouble Levitating

So in my most recent lucid I ran into this problem when I tried to levitate I couldn't control how far up I was going or how far down I went, and also for some strange reason when I was levitating i went up waist first.

I was wondering if anyone else experienced this problem or something similar to it, and if so did you find a way to fix it.

Oh and by the way thanks for taking the time to read this post.

I'm having a hard time with flying and levitating as well. In my DILD workbook I was told it is nothing but a mental block, just knowing that alone has helped me. Maybe it will help you too. But other than that, I could use tips also

I was told it is nothing but a mental block
Most definitely could be a direct link to the problem you both have/had.

As a suggestion; When you begin to levitate, practice allowing your mind and body to rise and also, rise in conciousness with the levitation. Know that you are able to have complete control over where your going, how fast/slow you want to go, and how your going to get there, etc. This train of though can also aid people in their troubles with flying. For example, I had a problem where when I would begin to fly, I thought I would have to try extremely hard to reach greater speeds. However, when ever I tried my hardest, I would begin to "Lag" and feel weighed down thus, slowing me down. So, I began to relax, and let myself reach the desired speed which in turn helped quite a bit. Anyways - Hope this helped, and good luck!

I agree with that, the mind is the only limitation in lucid dreams. I frequently have trouble running fast enough in dreams also but it's because I zone in on it with doubt. Like you said, we just gotta relax

To me it sounds like you are trying to hard? lol for me it is literally, the thought/intention of doing so does that. If I wish to levitate, I do so. If I wish to fly, I fly. It is more simple then you believe, there are no tricks. There is nothing to it, you just have to get yourself out of that limited mind! Don't try just do
You must have no fear or doubt that you will fail or fall, so get that out of your system. There is really nothing to flying, it is honestly the most easy and enjoyable thing I have ever done in my life. Best of luck to you, and remember! Don't limit yourself, only you can do that!

Levitating is curious for me, because, sometimes i wish to levitate and i can't get past a couple of meters. But there's some dreams that i wish to just walk but the "dream" forces me to levitate. And it's difficult to control myself. There i am in the dream, in a street, levitating like a baloon and i'm trying to grab something to go to the floor. And i have a hard time to go to the floor.

reminds me of the first time I flew I was going 2-300mph but could not turn at all! I learned I had to consciously and intentionally turn. You'll learn just fart around and know you are the master of your dreams
The only limitation is your imagination best of luck

I've always been able to fly in dreams without much effort, but only recently have I taught myself how to levitate properly. For me, a lot of it came from watching how Marceline levitates in Adventure Time. My subconscious just seemed to latch on to her ability and allow it to manifest in my dreams. A lot of my lucid powers are based on the abilities of fictional characters, come to think of it. Maybe this could be beneficial to you as well? Study a character who is able to levitate until the power bleeds over into your dreams. Giving an ability some context in this way makes it a lot more passive and therefore much less of a struggle to perform.

Thank you all for your advice, sadly I couldn't respond sooner due to my re-enrollment into school but I was able to become lucid ( ) even though I was neglecting to do reality checks.
I tried to levitate in this lucid dream and this time nothing happened, yet I was able to do a super jump with ease, using this knowledge when I woke up I devised a plan that will use my ability to super jump and try to jump while in mid-air. (pretty much like the moonwalk in one piece.)
I figure I could give this a shot until i learn how to surpass my mental block or whatever else could be stopping me from doing this and will hopefully come back with results relatively soon.

I used to have problems flying in my dreams too, constantly losing control and falling in mid flight or undertaking a very sluggish/lopsided flight. However, with experience I was able to perfect my ability to fly, and now it comes effortlessly. I suggest that you think of it as being weightless, as it often feels to me like I am free of gravity. In the past I overcame flight difficulties by taking a deep breath or closing my eyes before attempting, then I found that it was a simple as willing myself to be lifted from the ground - like being carried away by a mild breeze.

@crypticcello - That's a great idea. As a suggestion, you could even incorporate a form of levitation or practice slowing time down while in the air to give yourself more air time. Then, once you are able to suspend yourself indefinitely, you can eventually begin to control direction and speed, leading to you being able to fly!
