^^ I just checked out that tutorial and, though I disagree with some of it (i.e., it is actually important to remember your sleeping body is out there, right where you left it, and not a good idea to ignore that, as suggested), it might definitely be worth your time, Kalina. |
Haven't read the tutorial, so I don't know if this was mentioned or not, but here is a bit of advice: |
I sometimes have that problem but not as frequent as it use to be. For me I try to focus on what is happening around me instead of being shock that it's really happening. Prehaps practicing staying calm in waking life may also help you stay calm in dreams to lower the excitement of being lucid. That way your dreams will most likely be extended. |
Also when you do realize that you are in a dream think about stuff that makes you feel calm and focus in waking life. Try to imagine it when being lucid and maybe that will lower the excitement if that is the problem. |
I think the key distinction here is that your (Sageous) notion of remembering that your physical body is asleep in bed is an abstract notion related to self-awareness, while the tutorial I think emphasises not to try to "feel" your body, which can lead to waking up. At least I think that's its intention. |

^^ That makes sense. I didn't catch the distinction, but I read quickly and might have had a bias. |
