First! Welcome to my thread. I am BrandonBoss, but you can call me "BB", "Brandon", or just "Boss" is fine. :P
Rating System
Type:
two main types inter-dimensional (ID), and outer-dimensional(OD). Some can be used for both. inter-dimensional has two types as well, short range and long range. Some can be used as both as well. I will list ID or OD first and then short or long.
Difficulty From Start:
Obvious, how hard is this going to be from the git, if you have personal experience with any of method of dream control, you might have an easier time with ones that are similar to your own experience.
Difficulty Later:
How hard is this going to be when you master it.
Fun:
obvious
Usefulness in Average Dream:
Are you gonna be able to do this in a dream normally or will you have to look for something or use more dream control to get to it?
Usefulness in Fight:
Obvious
Drawbacks:
Obvious
Dream Example:

Dream Items
Type:
Both; Both
Summary:
Find an item that will allow you to teleport. Like a wand, portal gun, portal, or anything else. You use it like you think you would.

Usefulness in Average Dream:
depends on the item, but normally going to require some minor summoning or looking for an item, so you can't just do this.
Usefulness in Fight:
depends on the item, if you have a wand, it could be used to do spells as well. portal guns could be used easily in a fight as an attack or defense, especially with attacks or defenses. It is kind of dependent on the item.
Drawbacks:
Minor summoning. Could take a bit of time to get the item, might be the wrong item. Will always have to do that summon.
Dream Example:
I am already holding a wand again... :3 I shall apparate away. I turn and appear somewhere else. The dream stability is messed up and I forget to restabilize and lose the dream quickly. This can happen a lot in teleporting. Try to calm down right before you teleport in case you wake up. It is easier to restabilize and easier to DEILD back if you are calm.
Expectation
Type:
Both; Both
Summary:
Straight Up Expectation... duh... :P

Usefulness in Average Dream:
Can be useful, you need to work on expectation a lot if you going to get good at dream control, so if you have used it before, you will find it easy, or if you haven't you will have some issues.
Usefulness in Fight:
meh...
Drawbacks:
Need to practice with expectation and probably some form of meditation. It gets easy, but it is hard if you are in a pinch. That is why it is useful, but only when first practicing control. There is a lot easier and more fun ways to do this.
Dream example:
I am walking across a lawn. For the love of crap, I can't find any DCs to do goals with. I shall teleport somewhere else. Maybe I am close to the mall. I turn around a couple times and finally see the mall in the distance and start heading there.
Seaming

Summary:
I find or make a crease in a wall and put my hands on the outside. I jump through through the other side.

Usefulness in Average Dream:
good for locked doors and getting in places.
Usefulness in Fight:
good for running, could be used as an attack... I'd have to try it though.
Drawbacks:
None really. it is simple
Dream Example:
I am walking down a road. all the houses are pointing the opposite way and there are taaaaalll security fences. I can either keep going down the road or go to one of the houses and I want to find a DC to fight. I seam through the security fence and into a back yard. There is a locked glass door and I seam through and run into a couple.
Three Dimensional Warping
Type:
ID; short
summary:
This is hard to explain, but simply I change the dimensions around me as I turn and go to where I want. Hard to explain. The example will help.

Usefulness in Average Dream:
Good. cuts down long distances easily
Usefulness in Fight:
Good. You can move around the fighting area easily.
Drawbacks:
might mess with a stable area.
Dream Example:
I wake up in my house and start trying to get out of the rooms. I can't seem to get to the front door. Every time I open a door I seem to be far away from it. I can see it near me. I turn away from it and as I turn around the whole building warps around me and I step out of the front door and into the jungle.
Barriers
Type:
Both; Both
Summary:
Create a barrier or two with a rule for teleporting. I normally have a barrier around me and I pick a place to go. I can make one that either stays in the dream world, or one that only exists with one or two or more uses. Two barriers is to make two places that can simultaneously move back and forth any time you go through. Most of these are 3D opaque barriers. Some are invisible, sometimes I will put one on a wall and the wall will teleport me to a different place.
Difficulty From Start:
http://i.imgur.com/pWTvMa2.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/pWTvMa2.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/pWTvMa2.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/Fqdz7Hi.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/Fqdz7Hi.png

Usefulness in Average Dream:
Extremely, use your imagination
Usefulness in Fight:
Better than any other fighting tool I have found yet, except maybe retry. Being able to set a barrier up and leave it there without any attention is pretty helpful.
Drawbacks:
Not many... I am sure that there are some though. Most of them are visible to the human eye, so you can see them coming. It takes mind power to create something three dimensional
Dream Example:
I get attacked by a witch that is constantly killing DCs and ignoring me. We are in a small room and I create a barrier around the whole room. I don't know if I can teleport the witch, but I shall try. I teleport everyone in the room into a different place and the witch into a jail (she either didn't go, or escaped).
TRI -FECTA!
Type:
OD
Summary:
Lay down and go to sleep. Use the WILD process to set up a new dream. If you wake up, you can DEILD back. You don't have to lie down. You shouldn't open your eyes. Just imagine them open at a different place. More about it in this post:

Usefulness in Average Dream:
FA perfectly awesome. I hate FAs, so now I can just lay my head down and go somewhere else.
Usefulness in Fight:
haha... go ahead and try it. please post your results here. :D
Drawbacks:
Might wake up, but you'll get a chance of DEILD. If you have WILDed a lot, you should be able to just use that feeling and expectation.
Dream Example:
Near a beach around sunset. Pretty. I lay down and go to sleep. I am in a Goodwill or some store similar. Good place to mess with gravity.
Willpower
Type:
Both; Both
Summary:
Exercise control over the dream world. I am teleporting there right now. Can be confused with expectation and they can be used together. meh.
Difficulty From Start:

Usefulness in Average Dream:
Not extremely useful, but some people like the feeling of power.
Usefulness in Fight:
Can be useful, but be careful, if you use all the willpower you have in a fight you might take over the other person's actions and make it so easy that it aint fun anymore (can also happen with expectation)
Drawbacks:
The fighting one mainly. Can also bring you to a whole world where everything happens like you want. More like a daydream than a dream. The AI in a dream make it feel more real, so leave them their free will most of the time. ;)
Dream Example:
I am with my wife looking out a window. I ask her where she wants to go. She says somewhere warm and I put my hands up and force a desert out there. She laughs and I change it to SAO. I think I woke up shortly after. (using a window or something like this will make it easier to believe because it is like changing channels.
Slip
Type:
OD
Summary:
This one is hard to explain, but when I was in a dream once (non lucid), I noticed a small rift in time and space. I can't explain what the fourth dimension looks like, because it isn't something that you can see with your eyes, it isn't something explainable with your words. Basically try to make a rift, but it would be easier to remember one. When you see it... you should know it.

Usefulness in Average Dream:
Dunno, teleporting this way is pretty good.
Usefulness in Fight:
maybe if you are running. I know that alternate reality me used it to run from a fight, but almost every teleportation tech is good for running.
Drawbacks:
Gotta find it.

Usefulness in Average Dream:
Might use it, not really needed zooming is easier.
Usefulness in Fight:
Extremely. You aren't moving quickly, you are simply now... behind them... like an anime. :P
Drawbacks:
takes some effort, but if you get good at dream control it is a snap.
Dream summary:
I have only used it a couple times, so to keep from lying about a fake dream or posting part of a dream I don't want to tell I won't post on this. Pretty simple concept.
Scan Jump
ID; short
Summary:
Use scan and pick a place. After learning scan it is pretty easy since when I use scan I sometimes forget which part I am actually on, so I just choose wherever I want to be.

Usefulness in a dream:
Pretty useful if you are looking for something in a place. It stays in the same universe, so it is pretty nice.
Usefulness in Fight:
Haven't tried.
Drawbacks:
Gotta learn scan
Dream Example:
Can't find it and don't feel like typing it up right now. Will post later if people are interested.
Screw it
Type:
Both; Both
Summary:
Similar to willpower and expectation, kind of a mixture, but a higher one. Mixing them and making it harder and more fun and more useful. I simply screw where I am at and say that I am somewhere else. I simply reject the idea of the place I am, and accept a new one.

Usefulness in Average Dream:
Pretty good if you want to teleport without losing stability
Usefulness in Fight:
Not really a fighting move.
Drawbacks:
takes a few tries and pretty good control over your thoughts.

Thanks for reading. Please try these and tell me your own teleporting techniques. If some of them don't make sense, then just ask me. This took forever to type up, but it was fun to get my thoughts on this in order. :P
