Dream control bad for depression?

This is a serious question that I want anyone to think about before they decide to start controlling their dreams to much. I have LD since I was about 6, partial control since 12, and total control since 16. Fully controlling every aspect of every dream is nice and fun to do but there is a problem with this. You begin to stop wanting to wake up. Everything you ever could ever want could be real in a dream but if you could have this every night then you will not want to wake up. You will begin to start dreading every day things because everything is perfect when you go to bed. Other than depression problems there are other things that can happen. I have slept for a full 30 hours straight before because I didn't want to wake up. I stopped controlling them for a while because I didn't want to hate being awake. Has anyone else ever had this problem before? If done to often could it lead to a self induced coma?

I've always said that everything can make you develop a bad habit if not used properly. If you feel that you're losing touch with real life then stop going deeper into dream life.

You'd better recover and enjoy life, that's the priority, and then have fun with lucid dreaming. Also lucid dreaming could be used to help with real problems.

I agree with the above. Anything that is becoming unhealthy for you is kind of for you to scout out. I have pretty good dream control and LD about every night, but I never dread waking, I love my life, dreaming and waking.

All good things can do this to us. Video games, friends, sports, girlfriends etc. It can make us feel like it is the only thing that matters. These are good things if kept on check, but if it gets out of hand, you hit a point where there is nothing that matters, and that normally hits at the midlife crisis. When men have accomplished about as much in their career, social life, romance life, hobby life, as they ever thought possible and they are not happy. Things don't make you happy, and friends and family is not the answer either. Honestly, taking aside all bible stuff (eternity set in our hearts so that man will never be fully satisfied with anything but eternity in heaven with Him), there is still the idea in my signature, your focus determines you or reality. If you focus on the fact that LDing in your mind is much more fun than reality, then you won't be happy in waking. If you use it as a tool to deal with waking, than you encounter an anti-depression tool. When things get bad, you can look forward to it. If things are good, than no need to think about anything but the present.
