10 times lucid and still get too excited.

Hi everyone.
So, as mentioned in the title; i have been lucid 10 times now in 2 weeks and i just cant seam to control my excitement.
- I realize im lucid, and after just a few seconds i wake up.
Its very very veeery frustrating.
I do all the stabilizing techniques. Spin, touch the dream world, focus on my body or other objects, rub my hands, tell myself to stay calm, look around focus on and observe the dream scene. BUT, it doesn't work!
In the beginning i was like 'ya, that's fine... ill get a hang of this, it will get better'
.... But it doesn't :(
I still cant seam to just stay calm and STAY in the dream no matter how hard i try.
Why? wat am i doing wrong? :( What can i do to improve?

I have the same problem after 16. The last time I had this, I found that it isn't that bad, it is the best time to try to DEILD. You won't be as excited when you became lucid because it won't be such a surprise this time.
Unfortunately, I just stabilized and then my alarm went off! How great is that?

I think the trick is that this will pass in time. At 10 dreams in, LDing is still pretty novel, and so it is normal/natural to be excited. As you continue to have dreams, this will wear out. It will still be a fun and exciting experience, but it won't necessarily make your heart race to the point that you wake up.

And Forg makes a good point: any wake-up from an LD is an opportunity to DEILD. :)

It might not be excitement, since I get super excited in my lucids now and I don't lose them. It might just be that you are becoming lucid at the end of your REM cycle. You are more aware at the end of your sleep cycle, so it makes more sense to become lucid near the end.

if you only last a few seconds how do you have time to try all stabilization techniques, I usually forget to do them, today I was lucid at about 8:22am and my dream seemed stable, but I was awake at 8:25am :(
still I achieved a dream objective

I never had more than 4 lucid dreams in 2weeks period tho so you are doing great (I have had 4 long lucid dreams tho like 10+minutes, and now several 3 min or so ones and the rest are of the less than 1 minutes even 5 seconds variety)

Something that helps me is that if I realize I'm dreaming I take some time to tell the dream characters around me that this is a dream. Helps me stabilize for some reason. I usually try and go with the flow or the dream for a little bit too. Keep in mind that some of your "awakenings" might not be awakenings but false awakenings. If you do go lucid and wake up make sure to do some reality checks. Good luck.

Spinning around and touching the dream world are more for enhancement, for stabilization tell yourself to stay calm, look around, and breath.

The trick is to be calm . i had a long lucid the first time i had one. felt like 30 minutes.
bad thing is about the only lucid i've had. I had a few more but they did just last few seconds.

A great thing to do is to not do such exciting things. When I first started lucid dreaming I always started with the most exciting things first, because who wouldn't. Right :P?
But when you do that you tend to get so into the experience, you either lose the grasp of lucidity or wake up because you're simply too excited.

Right now you really wanna focus on being in the dream as long as possible, as the more you're in the dream. The more you end up learning.
So just give exploring a try or something, just try not to get into the exciting parts until you know how to maintain your dream.
