      help with false awakenings.

Everytime i become lucid I start to have false awakenings. it's getting frustrating because i can't do anything if i keep waking up in bed.

Just do a reality checks. If u a controlling your lucid dream you should step out of bed and do what u want.Just try other technique or something.

I had some horrid false awakenings last night, and they kept happening. I found that in the end reality checks eventually got me out of the cycle and into a lucid dream.

My favourite RC is counting my fingers. In reality I've five of them. In every dream, when I examine my hand, it kind of looks like there is at least one extra finger between each of my actual fingers!

      Works for me

Sometimes RC's are not the answer.

If you are lucid when you "wake up" in bed, it might be a good idea to think of possibilities rather than the fact that your dreaming mind rudely landed you in bed again. Consider lying quietly in your dream bed for a moment, perhaps with your dream-eyes closed, and imagine the places you wish to visit, the things you want to do, or perhaps your current dream goals. Just get your current dream scene out of your head, and your new dream into it.

If you are positive and imaginative enough, there is a good chance you will be somewhere else altogether when you open your eyes. And if you are still in bed, stay positive and imaginative, and simply get up and walk out your bedroom door, fully expecting a new and fun dream scene just beyond your bedroom's threshold. And if you wind up in your house's hallway, stay positive and imaginative, and repeat the last step by walking out of your dream house. As you might have noticed, the bottom line here is to stay positive and imaginative, I guess!

False awakenings, especially the persistent ones, can be very frustrating, but they can be dealt with, as long as you recognize them for what they are -- your dreaming mind's lame attempt to put together a new dream when it had no new schemata in cue -- and that you don't treat them as something more malevolent or unchangeable. Learn to smile when you wake up in your own dream bed, because you are still lucid, and, though it might need a little kick, the dream is still yours.
