Does anyone else have this weird problem in dreams?

I've experienced this several times, I would have a LD, "wake up" in my house somewhere, and I'd literally be unable to escape the house. I can easily phase through interior walls and doors, but when it comes to a wall or window leading outside, it's really like an invisible force is keeping me in, and if I push a bit harder, the force pushes me back, kind of like I'm trying to push through a big elastic band.
Only once I recall actually making it through (without changing the scene/teleporting like I would otherwise do), once when I reminded myself that this is my dream and nothing can stop me, then floated through the wall with little resistance and made it out.. Does anyone else have this weird little issue or know why it might be happening? =/ I never felt like my house was a prison or anything like that, lol.

p.s. for some foolish reason I hardly ever even think of doors, mostly because I find it so fun to phase through things, perhaps I should really consider doors XD But would still like to solve this little issue.

It's probably just doubt in your mind... Or maybe it's an inability to create at that moment I don't know. Like your mind fighting against you leaving because it can't conceive of anything outside your home at that time. I'd say it's probably just doubt though. Next time think up a bomb or something and blow it up. Of course if you have doubt about it blowing the door up then it might not ha... Try verbally saying that "I am getting out this door/house now" or "This bomb is blowing up these walls and I am going outside." the words might help give you actions more power.

Haha dear Mimi! sounds like we are real sisters! because what you are encountered is EXACTLY my problem.

i am at home 90% of the time in my LDs and the house is an endless prison to me. sometimes i want to jump out of the window but i am afraid it shock me and wake me up. i never think of doors too and only one times i was lucky to escape from the door. i was coming down the steps and went to the yard and so on.

recently, i wanted to go to a chocolate palace but i liked to stay at home and i did it. i...i loved my home and it was a pain to leave it. i didn't know it until recently.
maybe i feel lazy to go anywhere. LOL!

i think if i die, i will be a ghost who haunts my home....

I have a lot of abstract dreams of running away from people and sometimes I just climb through walls and objects as opposed to using logic, such as doors and windows. Not exactly the same thing, but kind of similar I guess... A lot of my dreams are out in the open world and when I am indoors I never think about doors much, I guess a lot of them are already open, or for some reason I never pay attention to how I'm moving around room to room. To be honest this is something I've never thought about much, so thanks for bringing it to my attention, I'm going to have to spend more time thinking about it and see what's really happening during these room transitions.

I used to have a tendency to get stuck in attics, Mimi. I like to float straight up out of dreams, but for some reason whenever I was in a building I would find myself trapped among its rafters or between layers of roofing materials; even more frustrating, sometimes the building itself would grow around me so that the ceiling was always just a few more feet away (tho a side effect of this -- incredibly gigantic buildings with mile-high roofs, was pretty cool). My theory about why it happens is pretty mundane, and sort of reflects something Robert already said:

You may be getting stuck because your dreaming mind doess not have a schema prepared for places beyond your house. In other words, your dream was meant to take place inside, so no outside was created. So, when you try to leave, the dream seems to prevent you from doing so because there is literally nowhere to go.

You already listed the best solution for this problem, Mimi: Just imagine a new place to be, then either teleport there or sit patiently in the wall while the new schema is generated for you. I've found this works much better than trying to force your way out -- though I must admit that on the occasions I did succeed in pushing my way through I was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected places into which I emerged, like deep space or underwater!

The exact same thing? Wow.. And that ghost thing is so creepy, it might be true, what if we won't be able to have a "schema" outside the house after we die either O_o

I was stuck in an attic's rafters and roof just last morning..

O_O This is EXACTLY how it was last morning, I was trying to phase through the kitchen window and the wall kept moving away from me so it was always just a foot away..

Alright, from now on I'll just teleport away instead of waste precious dream time trying to force my way out of the house. Thanks everyone.
