One of the most Profound Dream control techniques ever

This morning I discovered one of the most profound tools for lucid dreaming, and perhaps consciousness as well.
I was having a very strange dream, where I was around a lot of different friends in a somewhat futuristic, authority ruled environment. I decided to see if I could re-experience a moment, and remembered that I was in a dream, despite the fact that normally this excitement of realizing you're in a stable LD wakes you up, my determination to experiment kept me asleep, while semi-conscious of the real world, I think determination can provide an extremely stable dream environment. Back to the actual event, we were surrounded by computers of sorts and televisions, and books/other stuff. Beside me (as I was wishing for some form of dream control) I picked up a remote, and in full lucidity in this LD I solely believed that the remote can act as a tool for my dream control, and as I thought of it, it read "Rem-o-Time" like remote of time or something, I pressed "pause" and everyone/everything in the dream paused, completely frozen and still the entire dream seemed to be stuck as the button was pushed down, and I kept pressing it on and off. If you've ever seen the movie DARK CITY you will understand how profound the implications of this are. The strangest part of all this is the stability of the dream when time isn't present, time seems to destabilize my dreams, but when it's frozen everything is as clear as waking day. The reason this is profound, is because if you EVER try this you will see things in a new way, having control of time, is literally having control of events, and this brings a completely new perspective about everything.
One strange thought about all this, and you'd know where i'm getting at if you've ever had sleep paralysis, is that you can become just as lucid in "waking life" as you do in dreams, people are always asleep, and if they could become lucid, they could do things beyond our sleeping limits. Becoming lucid and thinking of a time remote could provide an escape out of this time trap.

I think this is a good example of expectation and its power to affect the dream landscape. Glad it worked for you--let us know if you continue to use this schema in the future!

I've stopped time before in my dreams just by yelling "STOP!" or "PAUSE!" and expecting it to happen. Sure enough everyone freezes exactly where they are. I never correlated it with increased LD time though. I always used it to escape bad situations.

But going with the remote idea, you should experiment some more. Perhaps there are buttons for increased lucidity, vividness, clarity and stability.

Well it was quite strange really because at first i would be in complete disbelief because I never "really" had control over my dream environment, and this disbelief caused the pause button to have a 5 second timer effect where it would go back to normal after 5 seconds or so. Strangely though when it happened, I had an epiphany about the relationship of emotions and time, it almost seemed that the excitement of stopping time caused it to start again and go faster, and then the fear of it going to fast caused me to press the pause button, slowing down time again.

The perspective of it was quite indescribable, because when you're able to rewind/forward or pause, the field of view almost turns into a television type thing where you can replay a certain event over and over, but in the most majestic way: when i I forward past that which I haven't yet experienced the "script" is powered by my imagination, and everything I think of immediately appears in a perfectly blended, edited and finalized movie quality clip which for a loss of words "resonates" with my imagination as the observer.

I haven't had this experience again, but next time I find myself in a LD i'll surely remember it.

I try to avoid stopping time... I had a bad experience once with it. But its great to see that you have created a control that works for you. As long as you conjure up something that you believe will work and give your dream stability, you will have great success!

would you be willing to elaborate on that experience?

It's not really that useful, but allows for an additional perspective to be recognized, because it sort of makes you realize that there's nothing to fear, you can stop any nightmare "program" from ruining your night and go somewhere that's not part of the bad dream. I noticed though that once it stops everything seems like eternity. It's sorta like going into "limbo".

Sorry didn't see the reply. Surely...

The first few times I stopped time in my lucids there would always be... others that wouldn't want to listen to my commands. Everyone and everything would be frozen but I would always catch movement in my peripherals, and some dream characters would move when I looked away and would be in different poses and locations than when I had looked previously. I've seen stuff from hordes of skeletons to demons but nothing has really scared me until those... "movers." So now I just avoid it.

Yeah, very interesting I noticed exactly the same thing. Everytime i really get control over the dream and morph it there's constant's, some sort of evil entities propagating nightmares, and whenever I become fully lucid they seem to be aware of it and attempt to freeze me and scare me until I wake up. I'd really like to try and use my power to eliminate them, cast them to the pit, or call on jesus christ to get help. This is sort of a repeating motif in dreams, especially lucid dreams, there always seems to be "others" who are beyond time in some way. I think they can eternally alter dreams and waking life during the intermissions between dejavu (change/time). This is a very interesting topic that I don't think gets enough attention, they seem to hide under masks of your projections too, like under dream characters and mess with the dreamer for some reason, most likely to feed on our fears. I wish more attention was given towards this topic, it's very controversial IMO.

Sorry if this is getting personal in any way, but what do you mean by movers exactly?

By movers I just mean DC's that seem uncontrollable and even sinister. And I don't believe they are spirits or anything supernatural really, but after spending months in lucid dreams where I controlled everything, it is unnerving to have dream characters moving like they have free will.

I'd like to think that these characters are part of my subconscious, but sometimes I really do think it's something external. Like i've always had a "hunch" that the moon is where all this evil is sourced from, because "moon"="mare" moon comes out during the night time "night" + "moon" = "night" + "mare". If you watch this long enough you'll see what I'm getting at, and it's sort of creepy once you start to comprehend the influence the moon + sun have on our states of consciousness.

interesting... I will have to try this. I may not need the remote but there is definitely something to giving certain objects "power". It's what humans have done throughout history and seems natural. Of course it's ridiculous, but hey why not use this seemingly natural phenomena to your advantage.
