Anime style sword fighting with superhuman abilities/magic

Lately I;ve been getting really excited about this. It would be really really awesome if I could have high speed sword battles with magical abilities, teleportation, superhuman strength, agility, speed. It would be the most amazing thing I can think of right now. If I realised right now that I was dreaming, I would find a sword and just start slashing around, practicing my skills. Does anybody have expierience/tips for this? Or just share your ideas/excitement :D

I have found this to be quite difficult (for me atleast). But that might be because my control is still a bit lacking. Using magical abilities still takes me alot of focus, if I want to teleport i have to close my eyes and really visualize myself being somewehere else. It would be very hard for me to use this quickly in a battle. The idea is very cool though and with some practice you might be able to do it. If you try it, make sure to write a DJ entry, I think it'll make for an amusing read. :D

Hehe~ this was also one of my LD fantasies ever since I started. May even make it my goal. I think this is definitely possible, but it requires strong control like Moeemoee stated.

I do stuff like this quite often. I would recommend "universe control" or going to a universe where stuff like this is normal. Go to Soul Society, Konoha, or some place like this A place that you can expect something like this will be a good place to learn these skills. Have Ichigo, Naruto, or Goku teach you. This is a quite easy way to learn! After doing something like this a few times in a dream, you should be able to pull out that memory of doing it in the past.

The one drawback to this is the fact that you need to be able to teleport to a specific place. Here is a thread about teleporting:

Your excitement excites me a lot :D Usually I just journal the dream on my phone, look at it 1 or 2 more times and then delete it. Because my phone emits light and is within arm's reach when waking up, and I am too lazy to copy the entries on a computer/real notebook :P But!! Since this seems like a really promising idea which might excite a lot of people (especially myself), I have decided right now that I will make DJ entries for any lucid dream with fighting involved. Even non-lucid. The mere effort put into posting fighting-themed dreams should help me. And I have been having a lot of Devil May Cry 4 dreams lately. It's an action fighting game in which you play as a half demon half human with insane sword fighting abilities, slashing up demons in all kinds of stylish and very satisfying ways. I have played this game or watched videos of it in my dream at least 10 times (maybe up to 20 even) over the past few months. And if I ever dream something interesting worth getting excited about, like picking up a sword and doing stuff with it (hopefully fight), I'll post them in this thread :D

I have spent 500+ hours playing Devil May Cry 4. I was convinced that it was my favorite game after only a few hours of playing, after having played that game for at least 5 years, and then breaking the ps3 (which happened about 6-12 months ago), you can imagine that I really crave for it. I watch a lot of videos of it on Youtube of people MUCH better than me, and now DMC4 Special Edition is coming out in june with 1 really really awesome new playable character (there were 2 characters originally), 1 pretty nice and 1 possibly boring character. That awesome character is Vergil and I have had 2 dreams that I recall now in which I was playing the game as Vergil (it's not released yet, I've only seen gameplay videos by the developer team). It really sucks to really have no money because I probably won't play the game for a while (or I find a job), but I think my hunger can be brought down to a resistable level by watching videos of other people playing it. That was just in case you might have been wondering why I got so excited :P And here are some videos in case you're interested in this game

For people who play the game, I know, the game never said that Nero is a half demon. But how else can he have that arm, a devil trigger and physical abilities that any reasonable person would agree are superhuman?

I hate to discourage you, but I hate it even more to pretend to be something I'm not. And I'm not a skilled lucid dreamer. Even if my progress suddenly takes off I don't expect much exciting fighting journal entries within the next month :( But if slow, tiny progress that hints at possible amazing stuff in the future excites you, I might even (with some luck) entertain you with something tomorrow! I am thinking about this all day long and I am confident that if I get lucid, I will remember to find a sword. It's not much, but you have to start somewhere. When will I be doing high speed sword combat, doing teleportation during combat, shooting lightning while dodging sword attacks and crazy stuff like that? Maaan, I wish I knew xD But just thinking about the possibility is enough for me to put some practice into this. And, you have to admit that with enough time, and given that I know almost every attack in DMC4 by memory, there is no reason why this should be impossible! :D


And Sensei, I'll definitely check out your Lucid Living thread, I'm listening to the podcast right now. If I could teleport to soul society, I'll definitely get old man Yamamoto to teach me :D So do you have fights in dreams that are as crazy and exciting as fights in Bleach? So I can enter my screen while playing a game if I want to become the character right? I could also start watching an anime and just enter the screen. The universe control idea is awesome :D

Sensei I read the DJ entry, your control skills are impressive but the fight itself was a bit boring :P Don't you have something with more magic and teleportation and stuff? I really liked your point about items, you said "believe in items instead of yourself because you only have a limited amount of dream energy". I always have trouble with dream energy and I hope I'll remember to find items when I get lucid.

I also remembered that in a dream I had superhuman strength, jumping really high and breaking a wall with my punch :P I also remember a few times when I used magic to shoot things out of my hands and I have also teleported short distances in like 5-10 dreams. It's going to work! :D

I have a good idea. You can do this in a lucid dream or in the outside world to get a feel for lightning fast action. Take something that you can use as a sword by adding some imagination, you can even flatten your hand and pretend that a sword extends from it :P Make slashes and stabs, but blink so that you don't see the motion of your hand. If you don't blink, your arm will be embarrassingly slow, but if you blink the movement will seem lightning fast like some epic anime character. Try it! Because you don't see the motion with your eyes, pretending it's lightning fast is so much easier (I am even fooling myself with this), ofcourse, in a lucid dream, your arm will become this fast and the rest of your body will follow with some practice.

I actually developed some legit waking life sword skills from doing this stuff. To the point where folks I know who've achieved mid to high levels of proficiency (with longswords, foils, and katanas ) the old fashioned way were surprised I'd had no formal training with swords, as my movement and form is only slightly off from the real stuff.

I just read your last entry, where you avenge your father, only after I read the comment did I comprehend that you were actually using the pillow to fight :P If this is an indicator of the rest of your journal then I'm in for some seriously awesome bedtimes stories = D

mzzkc, I intent to spend a lot of time in aincrad with the sword assists turned off. I have been working on making world more persistent now though. It is such a long term goal though. Might have to pause it to do some fun stuff like that. :P

So far I have gotten better at hand to hand fighting. Not as much sword fighting. I generally speed up dcs and slow myself down to give them an edge on me. I have been in one fight since lding and I fought about 100 dogs since starting lding, and by the time I finished my work as a meter reader, no dog had bit me, and I pretty much treated dogs attacking me as a joke unless there were 3+ dogs. Once I had a pit bull in my hands with its face inches in front of mine. Haha. That all seems like a dream now. Meter reading is a crazy job. Delivering pizza is much less dogs, not zero, but less.
