What is it like bringing animated characters from movies/anime etc. into a lucid dream?

I'm wondering this mostly in regards to anime characters, because some animated movie characters I would want to summon are already kinda 3D, but with anime characters, they're only ever 2D.

In your experience, what have anime characters looked like in your lucid dreams? Did they turn three-dimensional once they appeared in front of you, but still retain the anime-style of their face/clothing? Or did they stay two-dimensional but you didn't notice anything odd about them or they just somehow fit in to the dream world normally?

      Thank you!

Never had an LD with an anime character, but in my NLDs, I remember them being 2D. But we were all 2D!

Wow, that must have been a fun dream! What's it like being 2D like that in a dream? Have you or anyone else on here tried that in an LD or managed to properly experience it in a NLD? I'd love to hear about it!

Anime characters in my dreams have usually retained their original artistic style, I guess that means they were 2D? But at the same time I could move around them and interact with them as though they were 3D.

Ditto applies for me. It is very strange to see a 2D animated character interact with the 3D world. I do believe that a couple times I saw the characters be roughly translated into realistic looking people though.

I've wondered about this myself. I've been trying to summon 2-D animated characters into my dreams for several years now. On a few rare occasions so far I've actually gotten one to appear for a fleeting moment, overlaid onto the 3-D world around me (with their original 2-D appearance), but sadly I have yet to get a close enough look or remember the experience clearly enough to say precisely how that works in terms of depth, moving around it, etc. Maybe I'll finally remember to pay attention the next time it happens!

This actually happened to me this morning: after vaulting over a large hill of dirt, I was confronted by characters from Naruto--specifically, Gai-sensei, and some character who was supposed to be Kakashi, but just looked like a smaller version of Gai in a blue outfit, as opposed to the green. In the LD, it never occurred to me to inspect them closely, but they seemed to be 2D animated characters. I'm going to have more fun with this, lol! Neat topic.

What's it like being 2D like that in a dream?
Couldn't really say, since it was an NLD and I wasn't really inspecting the situation to see how it felt. It was a lot of fun, though. I was essentially the male figure in a harem anime. Something about all the girls making me go outside on the roof to get a cell phone, perhaps? I don't have my dream journal handy so I'm going off of memory. I think we rode on a water slide in a big raft, as well. Fun

Usually when there's a 2D character involved, my entire dream is in 2D, but like in reaaaallllly high quality 2D that have 3D elements to them, like a lot of the newer animes.

Sometimes if I bring a 2D character into a real 3D world, they wind up looking cel-shaded like a video game. So something like Towa here.
