I've never been able to fly in my dreams, which is weird because I can practically do anything else, from changing my location on demand, to changing my own form, to phasing through solid matter and using Telekinesis...
I always end up waking up when I try, and I don't understand why... is there any easy ways to learn to fly?

Perhaps you should take a few actual flying lessons, or do some skydiving, or paragliding, or hanggliding... something to give you the actual experience of flying or being in the air.
I started out as a pilot, when I was very young, I put myself through a private pilot's course. So, flying in my dreams was simply an extension of an activity I was already quite familiar with.
If actually shelling out for Flying Lessons may be too costly for you, or if you live too far from the facilities, or if your schedule would not allow you to take the time, then perhaps you could satisfy the need for familiarity with Flying by reading up on the History of Aviation or perhaps making a study of some of the world's most famous pilots. You could study some of the popular Learn How To Fly books. There are some pretty good Flight Simulator Programs available.
So, maybe after you learn how to fly, you will know how to 'fly'.
I was curious as to whether my favorite flying book was still in print, and it is:
Stick and Rudder: An Explanation of the Art of Flying (Hardcover)
by Wolfgang Langewiesche
It was written back in 1944 and apparently it is still the must-read classic. I remember the day I showed up to the airport ready to take lessons, having finally gotten my parent's permission. They wanted to sign me up for an expensive Ground School so I asked if that was really necessary, since I was fairly sure I knew everything. And after about 20 minutes of fielding questions, some of them famous 'trick' questions that made me laugh as I answered them, I was allowed to go straight to the flight line.

Maybe you are focusing too much? Flying is something that doesn't need intense focus..if you ask me. It's more like a carefree, light feeling. Unlike some of the other things you mention I guess..though I never really do all that. Like it might sound dumb..but like Morpheus said in the Matrix 1 'free your mind'..or something, but you know what I mean.
You could also try making very high jumps first, or if you are able to summon locations, summon a very large mountain peak or something with nothing but beautiful skies around you, and just..jump, and don't worry, and go with the flow :D
Or, if you can change shape..become a bird maybe..or grow angel wings..whatever suits your fancy ;) Just a few ideas. :)
What Leo and Lucius said is a very good way to go about this, if you can get the feeling of falling through the sky, you can recreate that feeling and it should lift you high into the sky. Its an exhilarating feeling that sends vibrations of energy throughout your body. The good thing about falling in a lucid dream is that you know if you hit the ground you wont die in real life, some people can't fly because they fear dying.
Besides recreating the feeling of flying you can try willing yourself to fly by just thinking about lifting into the air and willing it to happen and at the same time visualizing the ground moving away from you.
Usually I don't have any trouble flying in my lucid dreams. But one time I was having some trouble, so this is what I did. I put my arms down at my side, with my palms facing toward the ground. Then I imagined a downward force coming out of my hands, which pushed me up into the air -- kinda like a biological jet-pack. I suspect this would work if you imagined it coming out of your feet as well.
I was going to suggest jumping off a tall building or cliff. That has already been suggested. It does work. But, if you need to fly in a certian situation and you don't want to change the scene, try imagining a hook coming down from the sky and pulling you up. That has worked for me. If you need to, you can imagine that it is connected to a high crane or a helocopter,
Another suggestion, and this one also helps me induce LDs in the first place, is to close your eyes and imagine that you are floating in space as you attempt to fall asleep. Do this to the point where you feel as if you are upside down and turning and floating around in all directions. You may also imagine that you are falling into a deep deep black hole. The sence of motion from doing this feels similar to flying and has helped me fly once I'm in my dreams.
One more thing, I have heard that the inablitiy to fly in dreams is connected to a feeling of somthing holding you down in the physical plane. I can tell you that I fly more easily in my dreams when all my affairs in the real world are in order.

I've had similar problems with flying. I can seem to jump as high and far as I want, but no matter how high, or how fast I run and jump, I can't stay airborne. It's as if the concept of gravity is embedded in my subconciousness. I've had many frustrating experiences where I knew it was a dream, but just couldn't stay up. Happily, I've found that I can get around it in several ways, like just bounding everywhere in huge leaps, swinging around spider-man style (which can be more fun than flying, sometimes), or the most foolproof way for me, growing wings. Maybe it's an unconciously deep-rooted belief in science that only allows me to bend rules of reality, or maybe it's just me not being lucid enough, but it works for now :D
I had trouble flying last night. First I tried jumping through a wall into the outside and flying from there (all in one motion), but that was proving difficult because I'd phase through the wall but then phase through the ground too, and have to float back up to the surface. Next I just went outside, looked up, and tried blasting off, but really it was more like floating up slowly, very little control. If I tried too hard to get more force behind me I'd fall, but I'd get my cool back and resume my ascent once I refocused. I was weighed down because I was holding the hand of a girl I know and trying to get her to fly with me. Not that it should have mattered, with there being no gravity and all. Maybe she didn't want to fly. Oh well.
I have actually been having about the same problem, except I can't fly for extended periods of time. I glide. and then I usually only glide and then it doesn't work.
Speaking of which, I might as well make a thread about it. Later, though
I don't mind. I can slowly glide over dreamscapes and really appreciate them. If I really wanted to hurry I'd teleport or take a spaceship.

My personal favorite is standing 75* angle, Then imaging waves or something pushing me up will doing superman position.
1.Flapping arms like wings
2.Imagine a cloud lifting you up
3.levitate
4.running jump
5.jump breast stroke like you were in water.
6.spawn a jetpack
those are only six of thousands of ways. Use your creativity :idea:
Or perhaps, try a gradual desensitisation approach. Start off, flying an airbourne object in your dream, then something less airbourne (remove the roof or something), then keep taking bits of this object off until you're flying solo! :P
Um, guys, there's a TUTORIAL. As a matter of fact, if you could look through it and PM me any additional techniques you may have, that'd be awesome! I'm hoping to update it with more information and ideas, as a couple days after I posted that I tried a different technique in my dreams.
well ever since I stopped trying to fly, My LD's have lasted alot longer...
But I think I will try some of the suggestions givin here and then i'll get back to you all on if any of them worked.
Maybe you should try at first jump high and try to glide a bit. After you can do that jump from a high place

I'm new here, but I am a 30 year dream student. Flying difficulty is a symptom of carrying too much baggage. You may be lucid, but you are still "connected" to the physical reality. Try jumping high. If you can jump as if in low gravity, try staying up by singing or humming. This engages the left brain and forsakes the logical right side. You may find that you need to "swim" through the air at first. A good breast stroke works fine! If you know a mantra or chant that has worked for you in meditation or prayer, it will allow you to get "release" from the thickness that sometimes holds or restricts one in flying efforts. Changing your humming or chanting to a higher tone will allow you to go higher. Sometimes, it will change your dreamscape to a finer realm! If that happens check out your form.... it will also change!

Kastro, you know the feeling you get when you're about to start a sprint? Where there's a rush of adrenaline and you feel as if your body is a bit lighter? Do that in a dream. You might find yourself just taking very big steps at first, but that's a start.

It's possible that flying may be similar to trying to run in a dream in that if you are trying to do it too much using your dream body you might find it difficult.
It is more a mind thing. You simply need to think of yourself as floating or flying with your mind, and allow your mind to control the action instead of trying to do it using your dream body. This works for me every time. :)
Actually, the only way I can REALLY fly in a dream is if I do this "frog float" thing I do in the water, but it only brings me up and around very sloooowwwwlllyyy
