When I press a button, my dream always end. Very weird... :wtf: :uhm:
What button though :huh2:
Maybe, Luxr, you should stop pressing buttons in your dreams...
Seriously, though, as TheAssassin56 said, you may only need to stop expecting those pushed buttons to end your dreams.
This sort of thing -- a consistent trigger in the dream that ends it -- does seem a rarity; it could be a useful tool, though, especially if you want to get out of an unpleasant dream or a persistent false awakening.
I used to have the same issue with closing my eyes in dreams. It would instantly result in the dream ending. Since the time I used to actively LD, I still get the occasional LD, but closing my eyes no longer seems to have that effect. The thing about expectation is that it's a tricky business. It's not as simple as telling yourself you don't think it'll happen anymore, unfortunately. Expectation is definitely something on a more unconscious level, it's something heavily influenced by conditioning. You learned at some point that pushing a button causes your dream to end, and almost the same way somebody can experience psychosomatic illnesses, you started causing the dreams to end whenever you pressed a button. Unless you undergo a very convoluted process or get lucky, it's been my experience that only time can undo some of these learned reactions. Such as with my eyes closing in a dream no longer causing the dream to end--not only had I stopped thinking about it entirely because I stopped actively LDing, but there were enough experiences in between where, in dreams, I probably closed my eyes and nothing happened. That, and I simply let go of the strong association of eyes closing to dream ending.
As for now, you could see this as something useful, if you need to end a dream for whatever reason, you know how to do it easily... oops, just now read sageous' post, he already said this, lol. If you find yourself having to press a button, now's the time for some creative problem solving skills to develop! Hopefully you're able to get past this though, if it's bothersome to you.
