      Future predictions

Can anyone out there ask people in their dreams to show them the future? (sorry if this topic is old, but i am new here)

Since i got the idea to do that, i have had two dreams when this happened. One, i forgot what my friend said.
The other however, i was shown a scene of a coast on a desert. It was night (but i could see) and there was a huge hurricane coming toward the shore. I then was flown to a small town, and there was a car with the liscense plate texas, and then the numbers 25 and 26 came to my mind. Funny thing was, that was mid september and on the 25th of that month, hurrican rita hit texas.

Well, what is anyone elses experience? If no one has tried this, then try it out. Just ask anyone in your dream before you do what you want, and post up some stuff.

      What a great thread!

May I suggest renaming the topic to something closer to your actual question? Right now it's pretty generic and people can't tell what the thread's actually about.

I have tried asking DCs to tell me about specific events in the future. Most of the time they appear to simply not know, and other times they appear unwilling.

Just few days ago I was talking about lucidity with a DC, who was playing the part of a friend.

"Oh, right, I have to remind us," I said to him, "we're dreaming!" We had been walking across a street to a diner. I was clearly struggling with holding my lucidity, for I had apparently just lost it and was now finding it again. I thought if I could tell a DC that "we" were dreaming, that he would remind me if I forgot.

"What?" he said, clearly puzzled. "What do you mean?"

"We're dreaming. That means," I said as we walked into the diner, "that all of these people," I motioned my hand across them all, "will only remember what we want them to remember!" It was an exciting prospect. I was, after all, trying to make this DC remember something for me.

I sat down on a barstool and a waitress came by with her pad and pencil. "What can I get for ya, hun?" she said.

"How about tonight's lottery numbers?" I said.

She gave a sort of sad laugh. "Yeah, right." I smiled at her and raised my eyebrows playfully. "You're serious, huh?" she said.

"Go on, give it a shot," I said encouragingly.

"Well, alright," she said as she took a napkin from nearby and started scribbling on it.

I had been trying to inject some confidence into her character through the dream. As I watched her writing, I was intending her to remember the future, somehow.

"Well, there ya go," she said, finished.

"What do I owe ya?" I asked.

"No charge," and then she smiled and helped the customer sitting a few chairs away.

I picked up the napkin and looked at it. Some of the numbers were three digits and didn't seem to fit with the rest. Of course, one or two of them appeared to change, as text usually does in dreams. None of it seemed worth remembering. I felt bad for the waitress, for she seemed stressed on top of the demand I just placed on her.

As I got up to walk out I noticed that she was new and had probably only been there a couple weeks. The janitor yelled at her for making a mess and called her some pretty bad names. I told her that it was alright, that I had been a janitor once, and that all janitors are assholes.

And old man was nearby and overheard me while he was walking towards the bathroom. "I used to a be a janitor too," he said wryly.

I turned towards him and pointed my hands toward myself. "You gotta admit it!" I padded his back as I left.

I awoke so I could write the experience down and remember it.

Interesting topic. It could even be organized as an experiment in the forum devoted to that.

What is crucial is to write down the forecasted future in many details and than compare them with real occurrences of the world. Sometimes our mind falsely remembers a "prophetic" dream, in the sense that we consider as forecasted something that actually we did not dream about.

To put it simple: one sees a lottery number, and he remembers that the night before he did dream that exact number; well, sometimes the memory is mistaken: he did not dream about the number. That's why it's relvant to report exactly the content of the dream beforehand.
