      chemical aid to Lucid Dreaming

Last night I finally made the connection as to why I am able to lucid dream.
This is the tenth day that I've been taking "CHAMPIX" to quit smoking. I believe it goes by a different, but similar, name in the U.S.

Being able to control your actions while dreaming is so much fun.
Has anybody else noticed a chemical connection?

It's Chantix here, and it doesn't surprise me, as there are a lot of pyschological side-effects associated with it.

Of the methods mentioned to chemically induce lucid dreams, I would strongly advise against using this drug, unless the intent is to quit smoking, and there are no other options open to you.

However, elmars, I'm glad to hear you're having that kind of success with it. Just keep in mind your purpose for taking it

Every time I ingest MDMA I'll have Lucid Dreams without trying for three or four nights after.

Please feel free to promote ecstasy and see how the people on this forum take it, but you're in the wrong thread.

I wasn't meaning to promote it. I thought the discussion was on chemical aids to Lucid Dreaming.

I'm against any chemical aid for lucid dreaming, personally. Well, anything where you take pills or take some sort of drug or medicine to get lucid.
I understand you aren't promoting it, nor depending on it, but for the people whoare: Stop being babies, get your ass in a bed, and experiment with a few techniques.

I read somewhere that a vitamin called B6 is good for lucid dreaming/dream recall. Im not sure what foods its in, but I went to walmart and just got a small bottle of vitamins and i take one every night before bed. I havent become lucid from it (which im not very good about rc's and stuff anyway) but ive definately had more vivid and longer dreams.

...this thread is supposed to be about Champix or Chantix or whatever you kids are calling it these days. That's what I was saying. But apparently nobody cares to pay attention to what threads are actually supposed to be about, so...

I'm pretty much with Loaf on this. I feel like chemical aids are mostly placebos unless you're talking about hallucinogens and as far as I'm concerned, they're an entirely different story. I'm sure some of this stuff is valid, but it seems like using a chemical aid to get yourself lucid is sort of a cheat, like you're tricking your mind rather than using your own abilities and developing skills to actually do so. Do whatever you want, though. It's your body.

      Exactly.
You can hardly be skilled at lucid dreaming if you can't even induce a lucid dream.

I really don't see the point in such aids. Anyone can have lucid dreams, you just need to find your grove if you're struggling.

People used to spend hundreds of pounds on novadreamers when leardning to DILD would suffice. (do they still make novadreamers?)

I think that taking choline / 5htp supplements would help, simply because it's helping your body naturally produce acetylcholine and serotonin. You can just as easily accomplish this by eating choline/tryptophan-rich foods such as eggs and meat. It improves your dream quaiity, more than actually inducing lucidity, but I'm sure it improves chances.

i agree with you to a certain extent.. i do not take any supplements like gelantamine or choline bitarate however before bed, i do try to increase the amount of B6 in the foods i eat (which usually involves late-night snacks lol)

It doesnt help with lucidity but recall seems to be better and more vivid.. And to be honest, if its not harming your body and helping with dreaming in general, why not
The idea is to remain in a constant state of departure while always arriving..

I am in my 6th week of Chantix to quit smoking. It works wonderfully and I've had lucid dreams about 5 nights that were like nothing I've ever been able to do before ever.
