Is it normal for beginners to have so much dream control?

Sorry if this sounds kinda braggy...

I had an LD around two days ago, it was a proper LD and not just a dream about lucid dreaming.

      Things I did:

I made a time remote appear outside of my field of vision (then grabbed it)

Used it to stop and rewind time

Phased through solid matter as if there was nothing there

Made it rain horizontally instead of vertically

Made people I didn't want in the dream scene simply vanish.

When I realised I needed to wake up, I simply snapped my fingers and exploded into a burst of light.

Is this normal? From what I've read dream control is supposed to be this elusive thing that 'develops', but I just made myself expect it to happen and it did.

Maybe you got lucky and you didn't really listen to people saying that dream control is hard and needs lots of practice.

That's great! Welcome to the forum! Is it normal for beginners to have so much dream control? Everyone is different when it comes to dreaming and dream control. Some struggle with things like flying while others, soar with ease. Being confident helps. I hope you stick around. Good luck in your dream endeavors.

I think you should keep the attitude you have now. You know you can do anything by sheer will. This will be the most beneficial.

Maybe this is not true for everyone but I will say this anyways. Don't be bummed if you encounter resistance some day. Ease of control is not equal in all dreams. It's like dream recall. Be confident but don't think you lost it all when you get a dry spell. It will come back.

Also, I think lots of people have a hard time even getting to dream control because they have trouble with dream stabilization and dream length because they are just waking up. So it's not necessarily dream control that is difficult for those who struggle.

Raining horizontally... That sounds interesting, I'll see what that's like. As for dream control, it's rare for people to have that much control, let's hope you have as much luck and skill in inducing lucids.

I'll try to keep a positive attitude if my dream control goes wonky! Actually, my dream recall right now is having a dry spell. Oh well, just gotta keep writing down dreams.

Everything described in the OP can happen in a non-lucid dream.
