      Is this possible?

I'm completely new to lucid dreaming, but I wanted to ask some questions before I get started. I'm a musician and I was wondering if it's possible to effectively practice my instrument while lucid dreaming, because that would be awesome. I'm also wondering if it's possible to learn in a dream. For example, right before I go to sleep, if simply look at a page in a book, would it be possible for my mind to perfectly recollect everything on that page, that way I could control myself to study in a lucid dream. Can you guys help me out? I hope these aren't stupid questions...

Hey there and welcome to DV

These arn't weird questions at all and I'm sure more people wonder the same thing.

In theory, this is all possible. However, most people have trouble reading in lucid dreams to start with.. (letters blurr and scramble, it gets often to the point you cant read), and if you could recall all the pages into a dream this would mean you already know them by heart anyway?

As for music, I'm sure there are alot of chances to let out your creativity and make up new kinds of music. Or train your flow/feeling/rythm Mastering the actual instrument will be tricky unless you already know all the ins and outs of the instruments. Dreams are tricky and something you learn there won't necessarily work out here hehe. I've played various instruments in my dreams beautifully and enchanting..doesn't mean I can do it here

I guess it all depends on what you believe aswell, do you think LDing is all up your head or possibly sometimes a different plane? Of course the second leaves you with more options.. 8)

Ive had a several lucid dreams where i played my guitar.
Some of them the chords sounded perfect
others sound like they were way out of tuned

I think its possible to practice, as long as you dont wake up

      And heres an extra

According to 10,000 Dreams interpreted book
Playing a guitar in a dream means some serious love making in the future.

Dreams often play with your feelings on a subject: if you write a song while dreaming, you may know for a fact that it is the best song ever made until you wake up and realize it actually sounds terrible. What I'm saying is, it will only sound good when the dream is telling you it does..

      Hi!
Chapter 8 of the book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" (by S. LaBerge and H. Rheingold) deals with "Rehearsal for Living". It's not focused just on music playing (rehearsal is meant as self-training to overcome fears, like anxiety before an audience), but you could find some reflection about that issue.
