      TIME CONTROL

Ive messed with time control a bit, and ive gotten some good slow motion jumping.

I was wondering, what are other peoples time control experiences?

I wanna be able to stop time completely. Stop rain in mid air, better yet, snow or lightning.

      Any thoughts on this?

On another note, has anyone been themselves in the future? (i.e., your 60 year old self?)

Most I have done that is under my control is heightening my awareness so that it seems time slows. Its kinda like using a highspeed camera instead of a normal camera, you can observe time on a smaller scale, and react faster. I us it in dream alot but when I almost got into a car accident I think I did it here, it kinda weirded me out. My car spun out and there was alot of traffic, down the road there was a light and it had turned green a moment ago so there was a bunch of cars now heading twards the passenger side of my car already with decent speed, I was now perpendicular to traffic on a three lane big road everything kinda slowed, and I realised if I stayed out there I would get hit, I stomped the gas and thankfully I was able to put my car on the side of the road just before I got nailed, I still had alot of momentum though and my car slid sideways into a frikin merge sign, just one of those thin metal ones and it dented my driverside door I think it was much better the door than get broadsided though =) I probably wouldent have gotten too hurt, my car is a lead slead, a 96 caprice but if some lil car hit it, the people in that car would proably have had a worse day than I.

Daydreaming I will go over a situation a couple times but its not in the dream world, just thoughts, I try different things in different situations and try to give the other people a life of their own, I let my imagination go for them so they seem to react differently, Does anyone else do this? Its kinda neet you come up with the most bizzare situations and reactions, lol kinda reminds me of maguiver heeh, but I will know what to do incase of zombies, not nuclear weapons haha.

Fastfoward I havent tried, nor stopping time that could be interesting, stop would give one a really good chance to examine a situation, I duno what I would use fastfoward for though..

      Any ideas?

I've actaully stopped time several times in my LD's Usually if I yell out Telepathically STOP MOVING! then instantly everything stops, but I can never get things to go again and I can never change my dream situations and enviorments after I've halted everything I've tried everything, the only thing Im capable of doing is waking myself up.

The true time stop we need is the one that actually lengthens dream time..there was another topic on this aswell..

Now the time slow just happens randomly, you know with the dreams that last long periods, but you need to let it happen on command.

Being lucid I have stopped time once. I have attempted it three times. When in danger I either fight back or stop time. The first time I stopped time the people attacking me froze completely. Two other times I tried and failed. It was different then. Some people entered my dream that I Was unabled to stop. I tried freezing time more than one without it working. The 3rd time it did work for about a half a second then he began moving again.

To do anything in a lucid dream all you have to do is force things to happen. You have to believe that you are in complete control. I don't think the time will stop, I know it will. When I do something in a dream it will happen. Not because I have some special power, but because it is a dream. I have control. Just think that and you will be fine.

I've also stopped time in a LD. I was fighting against 5 or 4 guys and I was outnumbered. I wanted to do something else but they kept bothering and distracting me buy attacking me and moving around the place. By moving we we're kind of hovering above the ground. I got so annoyed that I opened my hands towards them and screamed "FREEZE". It did work, but when I started to move, the freeze would come undone and they would move again. I froze them again and the same thing happened. I froze them about 3 or 4 times. I haven't tried this again though.

you mean as an elderly citizen, or what?

      time is an illusion

I've watched eons of aeons pass before my eyes.
I really think that I have seen the begining and end of 'time' now
although, I cannot say that I begin to understand what I have LDed.

I have positioned myself next to trees, and in spans of minutes watched then go from sprout to death, roots and twigs(!), all around me, and then become the tree. I havve gained too much control, lol.

I have watched planets birth, watched ripples of nonlinear time for centered around my consciousness. I think I get to see what einstein was saying about space time contium, but I have little grasp of physics.
it is so amazing what one an do with time once one overcomes it completely

my dreams are no longer linear, they are heartbeats of collective thought
eventually, you will all be able to overcome linear story lines in dreams and you will start to dream from centers, like your paths of thoughts are roots grasping outwards through all times. that is the best i can do to explain. it's like my consciousness is rounded, not a line. hehe. hope that made sense. this is a very interesting subject we have not yet discussed in depth.

Ford Prefect said it best: "Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, doubley so."

that is modern perception of time, transcend it!

I've always believed that dream weren't linear. Just a collection of thoughts that you form into sequence only after you awake and remember.

dreams become linear when we make them that way

all objects, real or dreamt, are bound together, inseperable

      all ideas are the same

so we piece them together in our fashion
but they exist throughout as immortal whims

time is yours, not the universe

      So... how about reality.

Maybe reality is not linear, maybe all matter is meerly energy condenced to a slow vibration -- life is only a dream and we are an imagination of ourselves, experiencing ourselves subjectivly.

      wow that sounds cool.
It makes sense that our dreams are linear because that is what our mids are most familiar with.

Next time I am lucid, i want to destroy this illusion of linear dreaming.

Quoted from Tool. Although not exactly right. Great fuckin' song, btw.
I believe in a long, prolonged derangement of the senses to attain the unknown. Although we live in the sub-concious, our pale reason hides the infinite from us.

actually since matter = energy and energy = matter, yes all matter is simply trapped energy waiting to be released...its all perception

I've fiddled with time control as little and i think it all comes down to believing that time dosn't exist.

I've met myself from the past. My six year old self called me and asked me what the future was like. I told um... myself, about 9-11 and about sadam and his brothers and about the war. It was really cool to talk to myself. I miss being six yrs old

I can add my dream experience - once I felt time slowed tremendously.
A bunch of heavy armed guys with intentions to hurt me were about to assault the room I was in. Just as them broke the door, I experienced absolutely amazing feeling - time slowed dramatically, and I saw "snapshots" of what was happening, very much like a slo motion picture. Then I jumped to another dream...

      I agree
      TIME does not exist...
      SPACETIME

space = infinity to 0 to infinity
time = your place on an infinite living, breathing being

actually they beleive physical space in this universe to be soccer ball shaped =) hehe no joke...

This universe is not infinit, but there is one right next door to it that is.

Blu, im curious, when you center yourself and you experience all that there is arent you still experiencing time in a linear manner?

It is not in the form of a ray though, it expands out in a radial fashion from you so that you are experincing MUCH more than just that simple straight line path, but still isint that a form of linear expansion? hrmmm not sure If I am making sense...

This is something that still bugs me. I am still on the fence as to wherther time is nonlinear or not.

Blu I wish I could experience as you do for even just a moment so I coudl get an idea how you see.

Heh I guess thinking that time is nonlinear is too complicated to me too chaotic, how can their be growth without time?

The tree for example... it takes time to grow... but when you look past time it is the seed the sapling the mature tree and the stump all at once, it is a much greater thing to behold like that than taking it as it is on only one instance of time, heh... im confusing myself... Ive said it before, an instant in infinity is still infinity... But supposedly time started in this universe... so that means it will have an end.

But without the concept and application of time would the tree be all those things after you look beyond it?

I guess its the fact I dont like the future having already happened... it means that I am stuck following the same path right?

I need to do more reading on this hehe Im confuzzling myself
