      first lucid but not much controll

      My litle sister just found out about lucid dreaming yesterday and had her first lucid dream last night. She dreamed that a man with a gun was in the house. She tryed to will him away, but he was still there. Any tips for gaining more controll over people and surroundings in dreams? She said that her thoughts were very fuzzy and unclear. She also then decided that she wanted to drive a car but mom was there so she got scared of getting caught? How can she gain more controll? Any tips would be helpfull we only just learned that this was possible.

      Read more about lucid dreams, but not on forums. Tell your sister visualization is key. Picture something else there instead. Or picture herself somewhere else. LD is a complicated mess and forums are going to confuse you with to much information and misinformation.

      That is what the tutorial section here on dreamviews is for. The problem is, there isn't a lot of updated information about LDing in other places. The books are outdated. This site is an excellent source for LDing. There are tons of experienced lucid dreamers on this site who help out others with common questions and problems. It is true that no one person is the same in real life or in the dream state. That is why it is important to build your own methods and techniques from others who have already been there, as opposed to just copying techniques word for word. Dream Guides are here to help out as well as many other experienced lucid dreamers. To tell someone to look elsewhere for information isn't going to help him any. Misinformation goes around sometimes, but that is what the Dream Guides and experienced dreamers are here for. jA lot of times, just because it is misinformation for your dreaming methods/style doesn't mean it is for everyone. Just saying...

      @curious dreamer:
      Control will come with time and experience. In each LD, keep practicng your control. Remember that everything around you is your own minds fabrication. If you truly believe that you can control something 100%, you will be able to. Of course, its not always so simple. Any shadow of a doubt can cause control problems, but there are many ways around this. First off, you need to stabilize your dream. Upon entering the dream state it is often very unstable. You should perform some stabilization techniques to try and clear up that fuzziness. Once everything is nice and clean, proceed with the dream. Stability has a lot to do with control. Now that its clear, lets say, you aren't able to run very fast in a dream. Try taking off your shoes, or tightening your laces. Get creative with it. Dreams don't play by the same rules as reality. Yet everything will take practice...even within the dream state. If you find methods that work for you...use them. If you want a guy to leave the house, and he won't leave by you telling him. You can ask another DC to get him out or call upon Death (Grim Reaper) to come take him. You could grab him and toss him out the window or possibly even politely ask him to leave. You never really know what is going to work, so just try all kinds of random stuff. Once you get the hang of control, these types of problems become fewer and far between. Until you get the hang of it, you can use these types of loopholes/tricks to get your dream environment to behave. Have fun with it and keep practicing. You will get it eventually. Good Luck to you and if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!
