Getting rid of a re-occuring dream character
Lately in my dreams there has been a friend that turns up in my dreams, and I don't really want them in my dreams anymore. In my next lucid im going to try to tell them to go away. But has anyone got any ideas to make a dream character extinct from your dreams.

Actually, the trick in this regards is to get up and excuse yourself and leave. If the Mountain does not come to Mohamed, then Mohamed will go to the Mountain. If a Dream Character is bothering you, well, isn't it easier if you are the one who leaves.
This is particularly easy if you have the ability to Fly or Levitate within a Dream. It is one of the Rules of Lucid Dreaming that ordinary dream characters lack the ability to Fly or Levitate. It is one way to sort the Wheat from the Chaff, to get up and Fly away. Only the Highest and Most Evolved of Dreamers and Spiritual Entities would be able to follow.

Thats a good idea. But the thing is when I'm in the dream I can't control my urges and I want to stay with them. It is a girl that I liked a long time ago, but I don't want her appearing in my dreams anymore. Also I just wanted to add I have been in dreams before where I have tried flying away from a dream character who was physically out to get me only to see they were right underneath me flying as well. Was a pretty scary dream.

Well, if a Dream Character is able to follow you in Flight then this indicates that the Dream Character is expressive of a Spiritual Conflict that your Higher Dream Self insists that you must face. You see, Dreams are ulitimately intended as tools for our necessary social and spiritual development. Every stage of Passage and Maturity through which we go in Life has its accompanying and supportive Dreams. So, in a practical sense, some dreams, and some interactions with certain Dream Characters may not entirely be optional. Well, I guess we always have a choice, but it may be a matter where if we really do decide not to deal with some Dream Issues, any further Progress may then be barred to us.
anyway, if a Dream Charcter can fly away with you, I would see this as a matter for insistence, and such a Dream Character should be dealt with and not avoided. Or perhaps, as with your particular dream, where you described it as your being able to stay just above this dream character's pursuit, the meaning may be that you need to fly higher in order to avoid the problems in your Life and Spiritual Quests.
