      Body Transformation

One thing I've always wanted to do while in a dream is transform into an animal or fantasy creature but, as you can see by my profile, I'm still only a beginner and I tend to wake up as soon as I become lucid. Has anyone here used dream control to do this sort of thing?

I'm going to tell all new LDer the same thing. One step at a time. Work with the basics, master them and you will get better. Don't try to force things that are advanced as a beginner. Start with trying to stay in the LD longer. Then go from there.

      Well, yes and no.
You're not going to transform into an animal if your lucid dream keeps ending
And Yes, I've done this, but into a woman's body

      HOWEVER.
One important thing with lucid dreams is to have a goal in mind, something you want to do.
I'd suggest that you start with things like shouting 'CLARITY' in your dream, and running your hands on the floor or wall. If you stabilise the dream, THEN try to achieve your further goals (transforming, etc)

Are you having a lot of false awakenings? (FA's)
If so, learn to use them as dreamsigns, so if you lose the dream to a false awakening, you don't lose your lucidity

EDIT: Oh yes, and I've been an eagle for a little bit as well

yes transforming yourself is definitely possible, but if you're still waking once you become lucid then this is probably going to be very difficult. one way of doing this however is to imagine that you are someone else in your dream, if you do that you have a good chance of becoming that person (creature, whichever). later on you can create what you want to be by imagining it, then imagine that you are that thing... these things take practice and a lot of control, eventually you can will yourself into anything directly... however this 'shapeshifting' ability can easily create too much confusion and end the lucid dream, like anything else keep practicing.

I have once made myself grow, from 6 - 6.1 feet to ~8 feet. I have never attempted to become an animal or another creature.

I'm only a beginner too, but I've been able to transforum with ease unless I see my see in a mirror. The trick for me is to just watch your hands transforum and the rest should come.

When you have good dream control, anything is possible in your dreams. Just work on your dreaming skill.

The Best way I have found to transform in a dream, is to find a mirror.

Using the mirror, look at your reflection and Imagine your reflection changing into the creature of your choice, and try to convince yourself that whatever happens in the mirror, is gonna happen to you because you are the same.

I think if your sufficiantly convinced the reflection in the mirror is you, and that whatever you do it does, then changing the image in the mirror should change you.

One other thing you may want to try if you can't do it yourself, is asking a Dream Character to Transform you into the creature.

HEY! Cool, I did this in my WILD last night!

I think I can be of some help here!!!

See, when I enetered my WILD, I was some sort of funky wolf-dog-monster hybrid, ouside the walls of jerusalem. But, I wanted to be a knight on horseback. So, here's what I did:

I imagined the sound of hoofbeats that a knight on horseback would make, and I thought to myself, "those are my horse's hoofbeats", and voilla! Instant morph into a knight on horseback.

      So, my suggestion is this:

If you want to change into an animal or a fantasy creature or something, find a "HOOK". Ie, something that animal or creature does, which is easy to imagine, and try to conjure up THAT first, relating it in your mind to the thing you're trying to morph into.

For instance, if you want to turn into a dragon, perhaps imagine the "whoosh" of dragon wings, and believe that you're making it. Then, when you hear the sound for real in your dream, think to yourself "hey! That's me! I'm a dragon!" and once you;ve got the sound, the rest should follow, and you should morph into whatever you want to be.

Now, I'm no dream control expert... I'm just a fresh newbie, but this worked for me, so maybe it will for you too!

(As it so happend, shortly after I became the knight on horseback, and things were starting to get a bit more vivid, I had a false awakening, which kinda sucked, cos after then I didn't manage to get out of my house before I woke up for reall... but hey, success nonetheless!)
