Opening Doors To New Dream Worlds

Just thought I'd share a technique I find really useful when in sleep paralysis or when your dream fades into darkness.

I used to try roll my dream body off the bed when in sleep paralysis and had fairly good success, but I sometimes found it difficult to control my entire body and I always ended up in my room.

A few months ago I 'woke up' in sleep paralysis and an idea came to me to imagine reaching out for a door handle. I felt my arm extend and after a few seconds I felt a door handle (everything was pitch black) As soon as I opened the door I was inside a dream world.
The reason I like this method compared to rolling out of my dream body is that you enter an entirely different environment.

Here is the entry from my dream journal:
" I can feel myself in sleep paralysis. As I raise from my bed and float through the roof I am surrounded by darkness so I tell myself, 'If I reach for a door handle I'll be able to enter a new dream scene' I reach out my hand several times then suddenly take hold of a door handle. As the door opens I see a vast gourge with grassy mountains, there is a rich blue river flowing and sparkling in the hot sun. The clarity is incredibly intense"
I was then free to roam this new dream environment.

As stated before, the benefits to this technique is that the dream doesn't start in your bedroom.
I am sure that with enogh control you can open the door to any dream scene or character you like, however I like the element of surprise and am always amazed at what my subconcious creates for me. (I once opened a door and felt afraid when I walked inside a dark room, I closed the door and told myself to enter a happy environment. When I opened the door again I walked into a field filled with bouncing pink rabbits I decided to stay)

Please let me know if you have any success with this technique I'm sure i'm not the only one who does this.
      Are you dreaming or awake?

i have heard of people using doors as a way to teleport but I find it easier to just walk through a wall knowing that ill end up where I want to be

I dont get SP though, so i dont know if the door handle thing would work well

      Doors

I just want to make it clear that I use this method while in sleep paralysis or when a dream fades/ I find myself in darkness. It's kind of a way of prolonging a dream after all else fails.

this is an excellent idea. most of the time i 'roll out' i find it hard to move, or maintain lucidity, as it is usually dark.

i suspect this method would help me start lucids with full clarity. i mean, whenever one opens a door in real life, they usually see a fully formed, clear scene. the dreaming mind would likely create a similarly fully formed, clear environment.

definitely going to experiment with this next time i'm vibrating, or losing a lucid. thanks

Last night I opened my eyes to a dark room (was WILDing) and got freaked out so I reached infront of me and grabbed the handle to the door that would have been floating in mid-air () so I opened it only to find that it contained another dark room with a psycho beast in it that began to run toward me, I then woke up

Anyway I doubted that it would work the moment I was opening the door is why that happened So theres no doubt that im going to try this again thanks for the meathod
