Hey all, |

LD Count: 300 since 2005, average 40 LDs a yr
Last LD: 11/23/2013
My most infamous tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-cont...ide-3-1-a.html
A few minutes sounds right. I have heard some people have had lucid dreams so long that they wake up feeling like they lived an entire lifetime in the dream! |

There is one member here, Gothlark, whom I chat with often. I feel like I can trust what he's telling me. He has told me that he's had numerous dreams that have lasted for years, or even a lifetime. I have to say that I remain somewhat skeptical, having never experienced anything like that myself, but OTOH I have talked to him a lot over the past year of so, and he seems like an honest person. |

Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretty nasti...
My longest LD lasted about 15 seconds, damnit. I've had twenty LD's so far, none of them have surpassed that mark. |
|
man, that seems so short.... I haven't had any LDs yet, but in my non-lucid dreams I've spent an entire day in a dream many a time. Does being lucid during the dream really make the dreams that much shorter? |
|
Many years!...Ive had WAY longer uncontrolled ones, but i didnt like them very much so i stay in control the intire time now. . .or else you just feel out of reality when you wake up...that happens either way to me but not as bad when its controlled for obvious reasons. |
|
Often it's not really a matter of slowing down time. Dreams often jump around and skip scenes, giving the impression that events have occured over a period of time longer than has occured. Also, things in your dream can give you a direct impression that you have spent a particular amount of time in dream - for example, if you look at a calendar and notice that the days are advancing, or a clock e.t.c. |
|
i dunno this sounds that all sounded silly with lifetime and all silly. when i get lucid dream its always when i regain control over my brain and thoughts. experimenting stuffs tryint to sharpen picture, control body and then last in non controled atmosphere as much as posibile lately. |

"Sometimes we're fooled in our dreams and just say - "Oh I must have spent a day in here" when really it's just our sub-c's warped sense of time flow." |

In LaBerge's book ETWOLD, he references someone from the 1600's who had LD's that lasted for over 5 years. Stating that he would fall asleep and wake up, he even had a whole differnt family in his lucid dreams. |

you mean each night he was able 2 come back to his pervous LD and just continue it ? |
|
No, one dream would last 5 years. He would fall asleep in his dream and wake up... etc. Living out a 5 year span in one dream. |

I think this question is somewhat ridiculous, I mean how can we say how long a dream has lasted? My time perception is totally distorted when Im dreaming and so is everyone elses, too. Sure, if you look at the clock before and after a WILD, then you can say pretty accurately how long it lasted. |
|
Iv had lucid dreams that must have lasted at least like 20 minutes. I've never had a lucid dream that feels that it lasted all day, but my first lucid dream seemed like an entire night. I went lucid, ran around, flew, landed on a mansion and had crazy conversations with the people who lived there, then i swam in there pool and breathed underwater and finally blacked out. It felt like hours passed but I have no idea how long the dream really was. |
|
PhilipJFry, is your sig accurte? I've seen a number of similar charts showing when REM occurs, but they all differ by at least 30mins. Just asking because I can't pin down when REM is, though it's probably somewhat different for everyone. |

Funny my first lucid dream was half an hour and my only other one was 10 min lucid and an hour, or so it seemed after i'd forgotten. |
