      The dread of movement.

In my dreams, I rarely can move in the direction I want. Usually, when I try to move in one direction, my body moves in the direction I do not want it to move the most. For instance, if I am trying to leave a room, I always begin to slide back into the room. Or, when I want to turn left, I look left and begin walking left but my body slides to the right as if I am on ice. This happens particularly when there is something that I REALLY don't want to get to, like some sort of frightening horde of zombies, then my dream always moves me towards what I dread most. I find that in my dreams things follow the rule, "whatever you think is the worst thing that could possibly happen, it will happen."

I think that the problem in my dreams is that I doubt my own abilities and I try to predict what will happen next, like I'm watching a movie. Perhaps I can turn this towards good by predicting better thigns to happen. Instead of subconsciously thinking, "I won't be able to move, and I will slide in to this pit full of bloodsucking demons or something just like I always do" I should think, "I will have complete control over myself and I will really enjoy what's coming next"

      However, this is difficult.

i know this sounds cliche, but only a difficult as you allow it to be
seriously though. the only restriction while dreaming is your own mind.

perhaps your subconcious is forcing you to deal with undesirable aspects of yourself.

are you lucid when you have this problem?

It happens regardless of lucidity. Usually when I'm lucid I just fly away or change the scenery to counteract this. However, even when I do this I somtimes fly to some undesirable location or the scenery changes into something much worse. For instance, I was being confronted by my mother who was telling me all of the thigns she didn't like about me, and I tried to just walk away but kept getting drawn back. (this made me lucid) And so I just decided to spin and change the scenery. Sadly, when I stopped spinning, I ended up in a dark, windowless and doorless room confronted by zome sort of horrible flesh eating zombie. I then woke up.

Having never really faced this myself, you can take my opinion for what it is worth (very little, if anything at all). From what I have read, you should take this as an opportunity to go that direction that you are trying to avoid. Ask the mother why she is telling you these things. Ask the zombies what they want... etc. Greet them with a smile and most likely they will change form and give you some crazy insight.

Again, never dealt with this myself, but I do like the concept.

i think this is absolutely correct. i'd be willing to bet that if you confront even just one of these things that you are trying to avoid, you'll find that all unpleasantness will magically and suddenly disappear, and it may even solve the problem of being sucked back.
