      Distraction & Gaining Control

Okay. I will haves instances where I know I dreaming and I get distracted or (the most likely) I can't gain control of anything, even though I know I'm dreaming. I have a method that only occasionally works, normally when I'm in a situation where I need a decision NOW! I'll think of what I want to happen then I scream a word or two out loud in the dream then the desired change occurs. It doesn't alwayswork though, like every 3 outta 10 trys actually work at all. If you also have any info on getting rid of reacurring dreams I would appriciate imensely. The reacurring dreams I have aren't very pleasant so any help would begladly accepted. Thx every one!!!!

      about the reacurring dream
maybe the way to get rid of it is to finish it? I don't know, that's what I would try if it happened to me...
sure, it depends on how unpleasant it is

      Moving On

I read another dream in this forum where someone had a recurring dream of a woman. They were lucid once (I believe) and told that lady "I am ready to move on" and the woman has not been in their dreams since.

Maybe you could tell the subject of the dream that you are ready to move on. You would probably have to be lucid first though.

On gaining control of dreams, in the lucid dreams I have experienced, I feel not a control, but more of an ability to "push" the dreams in the way I want them to go. It's as if, a normal dream is on rails, but I can bend those rails, even if I can't get off and wander around.

I find that a good way to gain control in the dream is first ground fact that your are dream, which the easy way to do this is keep doing RCs, Second take a look at the background or the enviroment of the dream. Third (which its more of getting things that you want, Like having money in a dream) Is to say that you have that object your hand to your self. It works like a charm.

      getting control

At first when I would realize I was dreaming I would never have control of my body and I would lose lucidity fast. The first time I got control I forced myself to stare down at my hands, probably in the same way that you forced yourself to shout. Once I just concentrated on my hands my brain kind of relaxed and focused on what I was actually trying to look at. I was able to move my hands and look around and I got complete control of my body. I then set out into my first amazing lucid dream.
