      Clarity of mind in LDs

Ok so last night I had two LDs, but while I was lucid, I knew I didn't have full control of my analytical mind, like I wasn't able to think as I would normally, it was like half my mind was able to think rationally and the other half was in "dream mode".

Also things weren't very clear, clear enough but not enough for me to notice i.e. intricate details, etc.
I tried yelling "Clarity! Clarity!" and while this helped a little, I still felt that my mind was muddled.

Granted, this was only my second night that I've had an LD (my first real LD was two night ago), so I'm only just starting.

Will I be able to gain better control of my mind and be able to think more analytically and see things better as I gain experience, or is there something I should do in order to be more "awake" in my dreams?

one thing ive noticed is that a lot of LD's i had when starting out always began a little fuzzy and the longer i was lucid the more clear it became and it would keep getting clearer as time went on.

so to answer your question, yes, as u have more LD's and gain more experience it will be much easier to control and thus you be able to become more lucid.

as for intricate details, u can help this by simply paying more attention to detail in your waking life, make it a habit to notice more details than you normally would, and this will go into your dreams(also improves chances of becoming lucid since u are more aware of your surroundings).

Ok thanks. I know I need to learn to control myself because as soon as I become lucid, I seem to run about doing all sorts of weirdness, so I need to learn to stop and take it slowly.

Getting past the initial excitement was challenging for me. My first several LDs, all I wanted to do was run and jump and fly. It took deliberation to stop, observe and explore after becoming lucid.

The "fuzzy-ness" is always there to some degree for me. I think that is a matter of practice, and somewhat dependent on other factors like how deeply I am sleeping. I do know that control is improving dramatically with practice.

Decide in advance what you are going to do. First thing after going lucid, remember your goals. That is a big start.

For me, I kind of just tell myself before i go to sleep that I can acheive clarity if I become lucid. When i become lucid in the dream I already believe that if I say in a commanding tone "more clarity"(almost as if you're a sort of wizard or something) that it will happen. Since I already believe that it will work in the first place, it is more likely to work. And also, you can say this command more than once to keep getting a clearer picture.

My first time reading up on Dream Views a very long time ago,(i've just recently discovered the forum, heh) I was so excited about all the things i learned, and was so confident when I went to sleep, ready for lucidity. That very first night I imagined a scenario and exactly what i would do when i became lucid, achieving clarity first. I gave one clarity command and the dream became considerably clearer, i said it once more and it became even clearer, after a third time I was so lucid and the dream was so clear it was as if i wasn't dream. Extremely clear picture, and a sense of reality.

Pumping yourself up and believing that you could actually accomplish goals that you set for yourself before you even sleep is my best method for anything lucid. It's much easier to materialize, fly, and even stay lucid for me this way.

I don't know if this helps at all or is even mildy interesting to read, but i'm new to forums in general. I've never really cared too much about joining one but this one grabbed me for some reason. I hope to read everyone's posts on here and provide some comments that don't piss people off or bore them to death. Thank you to anyone who actually read all of this.

Fuzziness does happen, but try spinning in a circle in your dreams, while saying "Clarity!", and when I mean spinning, I mean REALLY spinning. It works for me, sometimes using this I can actually touch something and have it feel real, or look at something and have it look like a high definition picture.

I tried the verbal command to increase clarity (I used "Increase Lucidity") in my most recent LD, but found I was unable to speak properly - the words came out all muffled/garbled and I lost the dream and woke up, has anyone else had a similar problem when trying to gain clarity in a LD? Before I said the command I did try rubbing hands together, but that had little effect. I lost the dream before I could try the spinning technique. What is most upsetting about all of this is that this was the most lucid I have been in a dream so far in all my attempts, but as soon as I began to try to stabilize and then go exploring I lost the dream

I haven't tried any of the verbal commands but I did look at my hands in an LD carefully making out every detail, thinking that this would increase the clarity and it did! It was the most vivid LD i've had and the one with less control too.
I've used the spinning technique too, but be careful with this one. As I started spinning, I started to float O.o and usually the dreamscene will change if you don't will yourself to stay in the same dreamscene.

      I hope this helps

I like to rub my hands on my chest when I feel the dream about to fade. It works well for me when my vision starts to go. I've had problems with spinning in the past because I don't feel I can ever spin fast enough. Often times I just keep repeating to myself that what I'm experiencing is a dream even though it feels so real. And by noticiing tiny details, increase the clarity. Just be careful to remain detached else you fall back into the dream

I did that last night, concentrated on my hands trying to see all the details, and it worked great! I was then able to see extremely clearly.
