Can anyone help? Shared/mutual dreaming thing...

How do you have a shared dream with a specific person? The person I'm trying to have a shared dream with doesn't know I'm trying to. I need to ask him something in the dream, and since it would be just a dream to him, he'd probably answer truthfully. And this is a question that if you asked someone in real life, it might ruin your friendship with that person. So, I want to try asking him through dreams first, and then possibly ask him for real.

So...can anyone please tell me how to have a shared dream with someone?

The one time I had a Shared Dream with somebody, it was not so much because of the person, but because of the place. you see, I was a starving student (this was about a half of a century ago) and I dreamt (or astrally projected) to the Cafeteria. While going from Line 5 to Line 1 I met an acquaitence of mine who was going from Line 1 to Line 5. We both stopped and chatted, discussing what each of us had discovered on the Lines. I told her that lines 5, 4, and 3 had nothing set out. She told me that Line 1 had desserts set out -- puddings. We had met at line 2 and neither of us had yet looked to see what was there.

The next morning we met in the hallway, in real life, and we both instantly and simultaneously described our dream -- not just a case of one of us agreeing with what the other was saying, but we each described the dream at the same time -- supplying detail and dialogue.

But we had not been seeking out each other. We had just been hungry and had gone to where we were accustomed to finding food.

its very difficult to have a shared dream when trying, but still the person could still lie even when dreaming so u may not get a true response. but tell the person about LD and then he would be more conscience about it and it would be easier to have a shared dream with the person. like 1 shared dream i had was with a girl i had been trying to get with and she was freaked out the next day when i told her about it. but hopefully i have another shared dream with her post if u have ne more questions about sharing dreams

i think mutual dreaming is a lot harder than you think.
its more of a phenomenon than a controlled event.

you cant just force a mutual dream to occur, its spiritual and shit. i think.

From what I've read on the forums, it's close to impossible right now to induce a shared dream. All of the ones I've read about have happened without the people expecting them to happen.

The only way I can think of is to work together with the person to have a shared dream (both plan to try each night until maybe it happens), but that wouldn't work for your idea of asking them a question as they'd be aware they're dreaming and stuff and it would most probably be just like asking them in real life.

It would also be very difficult to know that it is a shared dream. It could easily just be a lucid dream on your part where you ask them and they reply. In this case their answer might be influenced by your thoughts and stuff (probably not accurate at all). Also, how would you know if it was a shared dream afterwards? Would you ask them? Wouldn't that kinda still be just as bad as asking them in real life? They'd still know you asked them and that they'd answered.

Basically, I don't think your idea will work, shame though. Though the idea leads to a lot of questions.

Hehe, I thought about that....but I guess it wouldn't hurt if I tried a shared dream first. Even though he might be lucid in the dream, he still might think it was just a dream. So I guess all I could do would be try it and hope it turns out positive...

      Real have Real Life.

We have Dreams, which subsumes all of the Spiritual Realms and Astral Planes.

      Why mix the two.

so you have some silly school-girl girlfriend. do you honestly think that in all the Realms of Dreams and in all of the Nine Heaven there is not some bucktoothed freckleface girl the equal to that silly girlfriend of your?

You know, with any luck, the true goal should be to find the Girl of your Dreams in Waking Life, and not to find your second choice prom date in your dreams.

      Try the Research Team

I suggest in your position that you check out the Research team. The ongoing Shared Dreaming experiment has discussed this topic in great length. From any angles & approaches. Very informative if nothing else at this point.
