Do any of you ever have dreams of waking up -- either in your bed or someplace else?
that would be false awakening....and yes i do have them sometimes
I know what it's called, and I appreciate your sharing that.
Anyone else? And has anything interesting ever happened to any of you during these events?
Please use the search option for "False Awakening."
You'll find a lot of threads about this, already.
You can safely assume that I have a good reason for wanting to talk about this.
If you don't want to talk about it, then here are other threads where things that might be more interesting to you are being discussed.
But I'd like to talk to anyone who'd like to discuss it.
You can do what you want, that's fine.
The reason we have a search option is so the forum doesn't become bogged down with hundreds of new posts that talk about the same thing. If you want to start a new thread about something that is talked about as often as false awakenings, and get half-hearted replies from people who have probably replied to hundreds of other threads about false awakenings, and have probably answered the same question you're asking, hundreds of times, then that is your prerogative. I'm simply trying to help.
I'm just letting you know that it is better for the community for you to help streamline the place, maybe by replying to someone's thread that has asked the exact same question you have, just as it is better for yourself to see the numerous replies that people have already given to the question you've just asked.
Or, you can hope that those that have already answered the question are willing to do it again.
Forget I said anything. Carry on.
I had a very awesome FA around Xmas. Short but intense. At this point I've got to
back up O , though. I already posted it in the Lucid Ex. section and would rather you read
it there than retype it. PM me if you want to, I love FAs. Mine are so real, they always floor me.
Peace.
I'm trying to gauge how common they are in relation to lucid dreams. I have them all the time, both lucid and non-lucid. Sometimes I have four, five, six of them in a row. Usually I "wake up" someplace besides in my own bed, which is less disconcerting than seeming to "wake up" at home.
This phenomenon is an important guidepost in my inquiries.
I have alot on Xmas also, becouse me, my dad, and my brother try to see who can wake up first, it's always fun to have 4 or 5 of them :D
Well I pretty much never wake up for good the first time I wake up, I almost always go to sleep and wake up a few times, so sometimes If I dont do RCs, I sort of wonder if some of them were FAs and only some of them were real.
I know the feeling, because of how quick all my WILDs have been, I'm thinking maybe they all happened durring FAs.Quote:

yes sometimes
like yesterday
I was having a dream then I woke up then the dream came true so I told my sister about my dream :D :D all that was a dream
but it's reall annoying
I never had them. I mean never, not once in a while....or once a month. I had zero up until i tried having lucid dreams. Ive had two now. One was after thinking about lucid dreaming. And the other was after my first lucid.
I think that we are so afraid of waking up in lucid dreams that we it is the last thing that we think about before the dream shifts.
although this can be attributed to false awakenings, i've read somewhere that this can also be the first step of having an OOBE (out of the body experience). i've never tried it myself but i have a few friends who claims to have done it... and i sort of believe them because they could tell me things about where i was and what i did the previous night... and the only way they could know this is if they were with me (i was sort of soul searching on a barren farmhouse that night... and nobody but me was there... long story...)
I've had a few FA where I grab my dream journal and start writing... and sometimes I only realize I was dreaming when I see that the entry isn't in the journal.
