      I dont get it :S

Ever since i can remember, the night before my birthday i had trhe exact same dream as the year before, were i new i was dreaming but i was paralysed, this same dream stopped on my 10th birthday. For a long time now, just before im going to sleep i all of a sudden hear a loud buzzing in my ears and my eyes shut very quikley, i cant open them or speak or move my body, ino im dreaming but i also know were i am and that part of me feels awake, i dont actualy know what the dream is about i just know its going to be bad, so i try to get my self out but it seems impossible, ive learnt that if i take a deep breath and relax i can then open my eyes, but as soon as i close them it happens again, also jus recently ive felt my self move and muttering (thinking that im calling for help) because i cant talk properly and as soon as i wake up im in the exact same place, i have atleast two of these dreams a night. Do they mean anything of importance?

It sounds like what you are experiencing is Sleep Paralysis -- it's sort of a limbo between being asleep and awake. Your mind is aware, but your body is still "asleep". It's a perfectly normal body function, and although it may seem scary if you don't understand it, it's harmless, and in fact can lead to lucid dreams if you can get through it without panicking. Sleep Paralysis is a critical step when attempting the WILD method of lucid dream induction.

When you are feeling that you are unable to move, it's actually not a dream. You are awake then. It's sleep paralysis. It usually happens right as you are falling asleep or just waking up, so you might THINK that you're dreaming, but you're not. Just like TygrHawk explained, it happens to just about everybody.

Where "everybody" are lucid dreamers; On average, there's like 1 or 2 instances of SP per person without sleep disorders per 1 life.

You might not be able to stop it. But, on the plus side, read up on the wild method, you might just be one of the lucky ones that can LD very easily. Most people on here would have to try for anywhere from 10 minutes to two hours with strong concentration to reach where you are getting by accident. Take advantage of this bad situation and turn all of those into LDs! I know a lot of members of this forum wish they could do what you can.

on a good night i am able to continue with the dream and let my self just flow and do what i want! but on others its terrible and i just get terrified and panic and make my self wake up! When i do enter a LD i make sure i dont end up talking in my sleep just incase others in mny house hear me! after all if some one finds out what i dream, then it wont come true, wil it

You probably don't talk that much during a dream; never heard of anybody saing something understandable during SP; it's usually muffled stuff what might sound to YOU like you're actually talking in the physical universe.

I dont mean tht i talk during SP, i ment i talk in my dreams, so ive been told, but when i have LD's im aware so i keep quiet

Last night i tried the WILD and FILD, first try and it was a massive success, apart from the dog jumped on my belly JUST as i getting past the SP stage
      GRRRRR!! lol

3 successful LD's out of 4 attempts not bad, i had one at the start of the night, then when i awoke from that i tried again but the dog woke me up my jumping on my belly when i was getting through SP, so i just went to sleep forgetting to try, i woke in the middle of the night far to hot, and couldnt sleep again so tried the FILD technique, worked great! i pinched my nose to see if i could breath and i could Have to addmit thats damn weird!! anyway i decied to take a trip to florida in my dream! caus thats wear i go on holiday! it was fun! then i woke up in the morning and thought id try again! so i did, i thought i was into the LD and tryed a RC but i couldnt move so i musnt have gotten through my SP stage just yet!! i continued with it and i made it so i went to swimming and it was like on top of a hill (impossible in reality but aye thts dream land!) and then my dad woke me out of it by coffing in my room loudly so i just got up!! Quite pleased with my self

To that person who rote that, the recurent dream i had every night until my 10th birthday was actually a dream, i was a figure on the monopoly board and the man in the car piece used to chaxe me round n round, all i could do was run forward, whilst knowing i was dreaming, trying to awake from my sleep, but couldnt move. so it was a dream.
