      Stability Problems

      Hello o/
I don't know why, but it seems I have 'stability' problems in my dreams. Every dream I 'want' to stabilize fades away. I look into my hands, say 'increase clarity', but i get nothing. Closing my eyes is fatal, as well as staring at something. My last lucid dream lasted few seconds, just because i tried to make it better. Is there another way to increase stability? Any tips?

I generally find spinning more effective than looking at your hands, or any other technique. Also, it might help to seperate trying to stabilise the dream, and trying to increase the clarity. Only try to increase clarity once the dream is stable.

This used to happen to me when i first started having Lucid Dreams...

How long have you been having LD's.? Because stability comes with experience, like balance....it just takes try after try

Indeed, stability comes with experience. However I have the same problems as you, even after 2.5 years of doing LDing - closing my eyes in a LD will wake me up or send me to the void 95% of the time, spinning = blur followed by awakening. Today I had a fairly long LD that faded after rubbing hands

This is quite interesting, I've just had this thought. It is assumed that we are all humans and we are all equal. But this may not be true! Our DNA is different and our brains are wired differently (artists, physicists, people in between, etc). It may be possible that processes involved in lucid dreaming are different for people as well. This may explain why some people praise spinning and closing the eyes while others wake up when they do that...

If you can have short LDs but they fade away too soon you may check the dream reentry tutorial in the tutorials section. This is the way that allows you to induce a LD at will shortly after having a faded LD/dream

Oddly enough, my dreams last a good time if I go on without doing any of these 'techniques'. Even so, I need more realism. guess it'll come with time.
