      tips from a sweet guy
this is tip one- many more to follow
so noobish but not complete noobs- my gift is advice, and this ones for you
if u have attained lucidity and have had trouble controlling your dreams or working what i like to call "Magic" which is creating things, moving things, changing craps color or other things like that heres a tip
You are unable to do it, or find ti difficult to do, because ur mind carries over the laws of the real world into ur dream world, laws which have no purpose being in your dreamworld. so u have to find a way to shed ur mind of these laws which should nto apply. one way is hard work and lots of practice. but if ur lazy and want it now then u can do this. close your eyes and reach behind your back. imagine/know that when u reach behind you u will feel a harrypotter esque wand behind ur back. when u reach back it should be there. Now if u have a wand, ur mind shouldnt have as much trouble with the magic, because it considers a wand able to preform "magic" and therefore will not conflict as much with the laws u carry over from waking life in ur head. Now go! try it! then thank me later!
these jokes in no way reflect the opinion of mountain or his affiliates and subsidiary corporations, and as such he is immune from all whining, bitching, complaining, lecturing, the pointing out of ignorance, awareness raising, lawsuits etc. if you would like mountain to stop making racist jokes, he in turn would like you to go f*ck yourself</span>.

Closing my eyes in dreams wakes me upon opening them. I would suggest pulling it out of your pocket, or better yet doing magic with your fingers rather than having the wand do everything for you. When you use your fingers, you can lose dependence on them quicker.
Ham Sandwich Theorem: Given n objects in n-dimentional space, it is possible to divide each one in half (according to volume) with a single hyperplane.

      This sounds like a great technique, I&#39;m a huge Harry Potter fan and I&#39;ll be doing this in my next lucid dream. Thanks for the tip&#33;
I figure I can describe it since I have a choice in the matter

The wand is probably an important part of this technique. To your mind, the wand symbolises magic, and something capable of doing the impossible. To someone who can&#39;t independently &#39;magically&#39; change elements of the dream, the wand represents the power to do this, because it&#39;s the wand that has the power, rather than the person.

      I see what you mean.

Although closing your eyes in lucid dreams is a bad idea as it&#39;s hard not to open your actual eyes. It&#39;s probably best to use mental rather than verbal incantations, though.

I&#39;ve used a Harry Potter wand in LDs before to cast spells either to change things or cast spells on people to see what will happen. It&#39;s hilarious and fun and see the kind of jinxes you can come up with.

This is a good technique for the reasons you listed above, you&#39;ll have an easier time changing things because you&#39;ll think of the "magic" in the wand doing it for you.

That is exactly my belief too. Taking shorcuts like a wand for magic, or a time machine for time travel, or a jetpack for flying. It is exactly what I intend to do once I get stabilized in an LD, as I either fail or forget (last night in an LD I even planned on stabilizing, and forgot after 5 seconds).

haha shortcuts perfect&#33; you sound like an american... although, despite the stereotype of americans being lazy, did u know frenchmen only have a 30 hour work week those are sum lazy sons of bit**es. anyway, yes a jetpack for flying is a cool idea... but for some, conjuring a jetpack would be harder then flying... as well as not being as cool as just flying dragonball z style (i used to watch that show when i was 10 except i think they cancelled it... thats how i imagine flying at its coolest). also u can become dependent on thesse things in ur dreams... like it would be harder for u to learn to fly cuz ull think u need ur jetpack.

So far i have had one LD and i hope to have many more but in some of my other dreams where i was in control but was not having an LD i usually had a ring or something that let me magic and all that other fun stuff. I find it easier for my mind to handle doing the impossible if i have some sort of ring or something small like that, that you can wear. So next time i have an LD i am going to try and reach into my pocket and pull out a Lord of the Ringsesque ring and use that as my "shortcut".

Yeah, I know, the jetpack idea is more of an example of taking shortcuts, i wouldn&#39;t do it though. I flew in an LD before I knew what LDing is, so I am not worried about flying. My major problem I think is stabilizing, not control, as I still haven&#39;t had an LD where I can stabilize, and take over.

i find the best thing to do for stabilization is that immediately when u become lucid dont just be like great im lucid, and go fly, because ull be at a low level of lucidity and unable to focus on more then one small thing, like i want to fly. a good thing to do is to say ok im lucid, what does this mean? what should i do now that i am lucid. consider your options. this goes a long way towards stabilization.

Yeah, I have done plenty of reading on stabilization, I just have to put it into practice.

I like the idea of the ring a lot, actually. The key is to learn control with the object while avoiding dependence on it. With a wand, an action and an incantation are required, but the ring just sits on your finger and enables you, and it&#39;s thus easier to lose it later.

When I started LDing and had trouble doing my &#39;magic,&#39; I reached into my pocket and pulled out a ring that enabled me to do pretty much anything. After a while of constantly using this ring, I decided to take it off, and I could still do everything that I could do when I wore the ring.

I guess this is where the cheesy line "The power was in you, all along..." fits in .
