Ok heres something I've been meaning to try, but since my lucidity hasn't been up to par with me, i'd like someone else to give it a try. |

"What if all the world you think you know
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection
Is it all you want it to be?"
I have had non lucid dreams with NVG's and they worked / looked just the same. I don't see why this wouldn't work while Lucid. |

Dear Kastro, |

I disagree. Personally, I believe the light level during a dream may often be an indication of the light level in the real world at the time of the dream. I believe the light level can be changed, especially in a lucid dream, but initially it seems that it corresponds to the light in your room. Hence why my dreams are generally dim and dreary during the very early morning. |

Ham Sandwich Theorem: Given n objects in n-dimentional space, it is possible to divide each one in half (according to volume) with a single hyperplane.
I used a similar technique once - in that lucid dream i found myself in a very large dark building, there were no windows to go outside so I wandered the halls. Turning on the light didnt work so I used a form of nightvision/mindvision. I'm not sure how to describe that, but I was able to navigate the darkness just fine. Well, that wasnt the goggles, but it proves that you can alter *your vision* to overcome the darkness. |

Most of my dreams take place in the dark. I just attribute it to the fact that I spend most of my life in the dark. Working 8pm-8am doesn't leave much time to see the daylight. |

Most of my dreams (the ones I remember) are during the day. Thats because I sleep until Noon or later. |
|
While I understand the logic behind this, I disagree with this. I believe that it is not the actual light levels which make light dreams seem of higher spiritual quality, and dark dreams nightmarish, but instead our perception ingrained in our minds of light as holy, and dark as evil. I have changed light levels somewhat in an LD, and I don't think changing the brightness changed to spirituality at all. Anyways most dreams have ambient light, not coming from anywhere. |

Why limit yourself to "Night Vision" goggles? Why not just make Normal Vision goggles and just allow yourself to see normally? Wouldn't that be just as feasable? |

well last night after reading this, I put a matrass in my attelier room, which is pretty dark yet not pitchblack, and slept there. I remember a very vivid, peacefull dream, slightly erotic tainted at some time, being at a friend's place with other friends, and walking home on my bare feet together with a PsychoBillly Friend of mine who also walked on his bare feet.... It was a rather funny dream, overal feeling was peacefull. |

I respect your opinion Leo, but I hope that you are not correct. If you are, then I am more or less a spiritual black hole. I know that I am by no means a holy man, but I know (or at least I thought that I was) that I am in a better spiritual place than many people who tend to have well lit day time dreams. |

Well I understand the link you make, Leo, between Darkness and Malicious Dreams. |

I actually had a lucid dream that involved night vision. I walked into a room with two monsters there. I had some powers borrowed from Diablo II (the whole dream was Diablo II-like), so I dispatched them using Chain Lightning. In front of me, however, was a doorway leading to a very dark room. Inside was a creature that wanted to attack me, but was reluctant to leave the darkness of the room. I was reluctant to go in there because the creature would have a major advantage. I tried to cast a flare, to lighten the room so I could dispatch the creature, but nothing happened. Then lucidity hit, I couldn't adjust light levels. I was still trying to dispatch the creature, however, but now I had some more options. One thing I tried was making my eyes have night vision. Well, as that would involve changing light levels, it failed miserably. Nothing happened at all. In the end, I just resorted to walking and seeing through walls, and attack the creature with a sword with the safety of a wall between us (yes, my sword could stab through the walls. Actually, I sort of just desolidified the wall, but only for myself.). I had a false awakening before landing a hit, though. |
