Control: ways of achieving your goal.

An example: (you may want to skip it )

Tonight I had a medium lucidity dream, but I made a terrible mistake by trying to achieve my goal "hard" way.

I had a normal sex dream. I gained some lucidity and I had a false awakening.

Soon I realized something was wrong and performed a reality check. I went lucid again. My thinking was very dim and I couldnt concentrate very well. My access to memory was very limited. I dont remember anything I wanted to do in a LD. So based on my previous dream, I decided to have sex again.

I was in a very crowded gym. There were a lot of girls. I picked 2 and mind controlled them to follow me. I've encountered some resistance, but they followed.

Somehow I didnt want to have sex in public, so we went to some back rooms. here I have an attack of "good intentions" and ask if they want to have sex with me. They shrink in size and look like children. I recall all this morality talk on dreamviews and feel ashamed .
I walk back to the gym and walk around a bit, looking for someone I know....

      [/end of example]

The thing is - how many times I've done something similar. I chose "real" way to solve problems. Instead of teleporting, I fly or run/walk to certain place. Instead of summoning person, I look for random people. Instead of using my mind as a weapon, I summon guns....
List can go on and on....

Maybe there is a whole new concept of control ? Like straight line. If you want something, you make it appear exactly as you want...
If you want to go somewhere, you use dream spinning, and so on...

Yea I agree. It's definitely much easier to change something you already have then to create something new completely out of thin air.

For example. I summoned things before that are really distorted compared to what I wanted. I changed current objects I already have into what I wanted with a much higher success and much less error rate.

Some times you just can't do something. Which is why its nice to have more than one way. Can't summon, go looking. Infact its normally a lot easier to do it the normal way.

different activities have ,shall we say, different price tags on them in as much as they drain your energy to different degrees ,and energy is one thing youre gonna need to stay lucid( the other thing being technique)...

which probably explains why certain things can be easy for some dreamers to do and practically impossible for others ie; we all have different amounts of energy at our disposal...

the question remains, does teleporting down the stairs use more or less energy than walking down them?

the energy needed to dream well can be acquired by not using too much unnecessarily in waking life ie; in wayward emotions, or excessive worrying etc which is probably why the buddhists are so good at it!

last question; isnt the goal of lucid dreaming to enter lucid deep dreamless sleep where the conscious experience of a deeply peaceful state would drastically improve your ability to interact functionally and happily in the waking side of reality!!

You see, humanity is unaware of ways in which to control others, or achieve goals with their brain.
We are used to guns, knives, rockets, etc. killing people, not shear brain power. Now, we see it in movies, but no one has ever done it, at least that we know of.

So it would take LOTS and LOTS of practice, because i find that in my lucid dreams its hard to summon things, it takes alot of concentration, and will power, both physically and mentally. I've mastered flying, thats not a big deal anymore, because its FAMILIAR to me. Making people have sex with me is not.

      jags,

I think you are on to something, but let me put this out on the table.

In reality, it takes the same amount of effort to do anything in your LD. Something a simple as talking to someone, or as difficult as creating a world.

I think that what takes so much energy is trying to convince your mind that what you are attempting is possible.

Think about it. You know you can talk to someone, so there is little effort and energy used to do that.

You think it is difficult to create a world, and therefore expend a lot of energy convincing yourself that you can.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...
