So last night I became lucid, and at one point I tried to make a wall to stop this one person from walking away from me. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the wall to appear. I actually tried so hard that I woke myself up. I find I have no problems making stuff appear if they appear somewhere I can't see them, like around a corner. Anyone have any tips on how I could make that wall appear?

Well, maybe you knew it wasn't going to work, perhaps you had too many doubts about it? It's hard to do, but basically you have to let your subconscience believe that something will happen. So will it to happen. Know that it is a dreamworld your mind creates, and only your mind. Know that it is no different than making it happen around the corner.

Try using a magic wand. Seriously, I used to have trouble conjuring things until someone on the forum mentioned trying an extension of yourself such as a wand - this puts the power of control into the wand, so you're more likely to think it'll work, and it will. Does that make any sense? I forget where that thread went... I'll try to find it.

Edit: I think this was it: http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/inde...howtopic=35562

The wand thing works wonders. In a recent lucid, I made the wand appear by telling myself that I would find one in my pocket and it was there. After that I was able to do almost anything I tried, it was great!

      Question

Like the ONE ring! No! Not another Sauron!

All of Middle earth (and the dream scape) are doomed!

Ok; I've only had one lucid so far; but maybe you should just hold your hand in front of your face. If you have no problem as long as you can't see it, then this should fix it.

Well, my answer would be: don't. The wall has a friggin paradox on its side if it doesn't workthe first time. To make it appear you have to stop thinking entirely that the wall cant appear. To do that well, you have to think about it XD.

Instead be flexible. Use other methods when the first does not work. You could summon a lasso and drag the DC back or something. And it you positivly ned the wall go at it from a differnt angle. Say something like. "I cant materialize a wall but theres a handy one falling out of the sky to just where I need it." Then look up and watch it fall down XD.

In one of my lucids a few months back I had to do something similar. The bar that I was sitting at was entirely too dark and I had to see this old man that I was talking to. I looked at the brick wall and framed a section of it out with my fingers (creating a thumb-to-forefinger frame like photographers do.) I had to close my eyes and push the thought through my hands, and viola, instant window. I did have to close my eyes but I remained lucid and put the window in place. Hope this helps.
