I'm not sure what it is I'm writing about...I guess I have a few questions, that I know have been answered before but there are so many different threads about this topic, i'm not sure which to read. Anyways, here's what I'm trying to say. I smoke weed daily, much I might add...And I'm very curious as to -how- this effects my, dream recall, my ability to reconize I'm in a dream, all that. I've heard much different stories about this topic, but am seeking a True answer, if you know what I mean? If I could become lucid more often, (Last Lucid I had was, a -while- ago...) or even be able to recal my dreams a bit better, I would give up weed in a instant, just for those things...
-Any help/comments would be great, thanks!

I far as I know, smoking weed doesn't effect LDing. I only smoke occasionally though, so it may affect heavy smokers more.

I was wondering as well if going to sleep with music on effects anything at all.

I always go to sleep with the tv on, and I have quite a few lucid dreams. I don't think this should have a negative effect on your LDing either.

Smoking constantly, as far as I know and have experienced, GREATLY reduces recall. I've had a few LD's after going to sleep blazed, but my recall of them is usually so much less thorough than if I'd gone to sleep sober. Every now and then I hear people who say their dreams are much more vivid/lucid after they smoke, but I just don't see how that is. Physiologically, everything that seems to be required to take a detailed/vivid/lengthy account of your dream activity is completely countered by bud, but hey, I'm not one to call anyone a liar.
Dreaming more vividly, more often, is actually what got me to cut back on the smoking so much. Try it for a few days, you'll see the difference.

As far as music, I often have dreams that, in some way, correspond to whatever it is I'm listening to when I go to sleep. I've even come up with a method of dream incubation where you go to sleep actually listening to the sounds of a movie you're familiar with and visualizing what could be corresponding to those sounds, were you actually there to experience the situation. Even without trying this though, if I'm listening to, say, a good breakbeat music set, I'll often have dreams that have the music playing throughout them. The hard part is remembering that "Whenever I hear/see something that has to do with what I was listening to, before bed, I will know I'm dreaming."
That part's damn near impossible when you're fried, though.
