Problem with my lucid dreams. I read a topic about this on another forum, and decided to come read up about it. I have been having rare lucid dreams for almost my whole life, a bout once a month i would realise i am in a dream, and thus try and control it, atleast myself that it. However, i have a problem...

2 days ago i dreams about myself riding my new car, which i know i dont ahve yet, thus i knew it was a dream. a female friend of myne, one who i am attracted to was also in the car, and we were basically riding around town looking to party and have a good time. The problem is, when i realise a dream is lucid, i have no control of external factors... I can control all of my actions, but i cant control my friends and public people.
For example, this girl, bianca, i couldnt control what she did, what she fealt etc. is this normal?
Also when we were driving and trying to get to our destination, everytime we came close, there would be trouble, like interfierence from other people on the road, or it would suddently become daylight and 1000 people would appear next to us and stop us from driving.
I was getting so pissed off in the dream that i eventually awoke.

Maybe now that i know a little bit more about lucid dreams i can practice them, or try manipulate them, as before, i just took it for granted that it was a dream and i could ONLY control my actions.

Could someone try identify my problem and maybe give me some tips...

As for the girl, you might have been dreamsharing, ask her if she remembers it.

Other than that, I never went lucid yet, but I heard staying calm and realizing you can control your dream helps.

I'd say it's much more likely that you were just dreaming about the girl, especially if you're attracted to her. Most likely the reason you couldn't control anything or anyone is because you're not very experienced with dream control. Few people can exert a lot of control at first.

Well....for me its kind of the spur of the moment thing, I'll be thinking of something and the word "dreaming" kind of just pops into my head and "OH, RC!" follows, I then hold my nose and continue what ever i was doing.

This is a thing I do when i need to remember someting:
-Get a pen and a paper, and write " I'm doing 5 reality checks a day." atleast 20 times.

You usualy end up remembering writing the note, and what you were writing about follows.

--And I know Dreamshareing isnt a very likely option I was just listing posibilitys.

Good! Another person has discovered for himself that everything promised about absolute Control in a Lucid Dream has been one Great Lie. Oh, wait, but he would rather doubt himself and go on Believing the Lie. He thinks "I must be doing it wrong". Yeah, that's the problem. Lucid Dreaming is ABSOLUTE MAGIC, only everybody has been doing it wrong.

No, it is normal that you will not have control over Dream Characters. Your Higher Dream Mind insists that you learn how to get along with other people.

And it is normal that you will have control issues with a Car. Cars show us how we go through life. Do we plan everything and look into our future carefully, or are we carried along blindly by fate and circumstance, and often having accidents, or running into roadblocks. Cars in Dreams tell us how we are going through our lives.

i think it could be much simpler than that. some times, your dream mind just creates random situations for you to deal with. at least thats how i feel about things. thats how dreams happen even when not lucid. as for the people, they almost always react the way you would expect them to. you can try as hard as you want to control them but they will always act the exact way you expect them to. it's hard to look someone in the face, even in the dream world, and expect them to do something you know they would never do. i've been experimenting with this for a while. the one thing i want to happen, will not happen and it will eventually wake me up. you just have to learn to deal with the result and stay calm so you can continue your dream. or, im thinking, maybe if i practice 'knowing' that the person will do it, it will eventually happen because i will expect them to. yeah, i know its kind of confusing.

I know exactly what you mean. The few times where I realize that Im dreaming, I try doing impossible things right away, such as flying. But strangely I cant stay in the sky. Ill jump up and float off for a few second but Ill come back down very shortly. Even when Im entirely certain that I'm in a dream.

Controlling other factors is allways harder in LD's, you just arn't used to controlling anything but yourself. (or are you? ) Mostly I think it is just a think you can learn. For me personally, it is still very hard to control people and objects : (
