The other night i was having a nightmare and i became lucid, and i knew i was dreaming but i still wanted to get out of the nightmare so i started thinking of music. i started huming the Song "its a beautiful day" to myself and it ended the nightmare. and my dream became happy then i lost lucidity

Congrats!!! Most people try to confront their nightmares, usually in a bloody and violent way. I'm glad you found a peaceful path to follow. I'm sure in the long run, it is MUCH healthier!

      Cool

      That's cool!

Congrats on finding out this technique. It sounds easy yet effective.
Although, it is unfortunate that you lost lucidity.

Thanks for the idea, now I know an easier way to end a nightmare.
Unless I truly want a bloody battle, but ending it by just humming, that's great!

Hmm, It's funny I realy have not had any true nightmares since I started lucid dreaming. I just dont get scared any more. I wonder why that is.

Maybe it is because you understand that you can control dreams so there is nothing to be afraid of?

thought it would be ok to bump this to share my own way of controlling.

only happened within the past few months really now and again, im not lucid but its my fail safe way of getting out of situations in dreams, when they start going bad.

eg: if im being chased and just about to get caught or shot or something, i just press ctrl+alt+delete in my dream, this will sound wierd and trust me i am no computer nerd but this seems to be my way of control, after pressing it i just start a new dream.

like when a program crashes really badly and all other things dont work pressing ctrl+alt+delete sometimes saves you, it always works in my dreams.

      try it.

That is soo cool. I had a few nightmares two days in a row. I may try that tonight, if I can get lucid, and if I have another nightmare.

Lol, I give the nightmare nightmares. I'm the dream master after all. But I should try to give up my Freddy Rotine once in a while. I can control in a way of thinking of a beautiful girl and such. Or I can just..try to find my dreamguide and ignore the nightmare in general. But if it gets way out of control. Freddy is mad! >

There are more easy ways. (as a kid I would just say: 'I am going to wake up, I am going to wake up'.

But your way is far much more cooler
