      Hey folks !

As far as I've heard it is possible to write in one's lucids, but I've got some questions about it:

HOW is it possible? While lucid, does your consious mind in provide enought control over the letters or how can you be able to write?

Isn't it hard to RECALL a text from a dream?

Any further TIPS on writing in your dream?

      Thaaank you all, highly appreciated!

I know that people have said reading is impossible in dreams, but I've read before in dreams. and when I looked back, the text was the same. blew me away actually since I was lucid I actually expected the text to change.

I think writing would be a similiar experience to reading though. . sometimes maybe you can write something that makes sense, or maybe you cant. I have drawn in a dream though, and handled other things that required my fingers. so I think it is possible, just maybe really really hard to have it coherent.

      I've read a LD.

I remember the first time I read in my dream, I had to concentrate to keep the text from changing, it started to change on me and I was focusing on it, believing it would go back to the way it was, and it worked. I don't remember the words though it was about a type of medicinal herb.

So when it comes to that question, I'd have to say yes, to an extent. The only reason I added extent though was because when I wanted to show it to the DC who was locked in the library with me, the text changed to German (which I can only read a few words of) and he was all, 'oh, well... that's interesting...' and he went back to reading his book. So I believe so long as you remain focused on keeping the text you write or read the same, it should stay that way.

I find it's hard to recall texts from dreams unless you focus on remembering them... but with little effort you can read, and, why not, write in youd LDs.

I tried to read a text myself, and it didn't change. Well, it was pretty funny since I don't speak french and there was a weird sentence in the wall: "My name of you", or "mon nom des vous", only the vous was written vouuz. Funny is, I had to translate it on google because I didn't know what it meant. I don't even know if the order of the words is correct. Weird, really weird

After some time it becomes no big deal to memorize sentences/numbers in LDs. I can remember names, sequences, and even phone numbers! (sometimes I wonder if it's easier to recall them from a dream than it is to memorize them in real life )

I think it works the same with writing. It may sound difficult, but no, it's by no means impossible

I actually agree with you there, since, you can do anything when you belive that it will happen the way you want it to, if you don't believe you believe that you can write it and the text will stay the same, it will be.

Hey Frosty, have you ever tried calling those numbers? I'd be really interesting to see who'd or where you'd end up calling

Frosty, did you do anything special to remember the words, like any memory technique or something ? Cus I really have problems to remember words that I've read and I'd really like some help because I seem to recieve poems from DCs all the time haha. I remember only that they are very poetic and creative but I just can't remember any letter....

      Any suggestions?

Actually, I have a suggestion While you're lucid, read the words, and repeat them, repeat them 4-5 times, or as much as necessary. Tell yourself you'll remember them when you wake up. If you do that at least once, it's very likely you'll do it more times. Try to memorize the words in your dreams... repeat them to yourself without looking, as you would do in real life. But do this with EVERY single readable thing in your dream :yumdumdoodledum:

After doing this, you'll notice your mind will end up doing it alone, thus making it possible to do in non-lucids. Plus, it can be an awesome dream sign! Even though I didn't get lucidity when that happened. I remember I was talking about lucid dreaming in my dream, and I said many times the word "metalanguage" to myself, and that I would remember these words when I woke up. Actually, that makes so much sense, since metalanguage is the language talking about the language so... a dream talking about dreaming... but it didn't.... 'TIC' me you know?

Coming to think of it... maybe writing can be an aid for that. If you remember, pick up a piece of paper and a pen inside your dream, and write everything you see/hear. Maybe it'll increase your recall, too

It is possible, my last lucid dream I had thought about writing the night before and a pen and pad appeared next to me when I became lucid. I decided just to write what I was thinking so it would flow and I started writing. I was able to do a word or two but after that when I would try and write a letter my hand would not make the right motion and it would look like scribble. I was sitting there and it was blowing my mind that what I was thinking and intending to write was coming out unintelligible from my hand. I'd try and write "the" and I'd get the first letter but the next two would trail off in weird ways. It was pretty fun and made me think the next morning.

i heard that in dreams you can use your subconscious to write your essays or reports. You simply imagine yourself holding the finished report in your hands. Read and memorize it, and then write it out when you wake up. The only thing is that it might be hard to do the memorize thing.

lol, cool! So you mean that the subconsious mind creates the essay in a split of a second and then the hard work is to memorize it?

Usually I only remember a few words from my dreams but sometimes conversations too. This would be a challenge

I think that one of my dreamsigns may be text, I unfortunately cannot comprehend text in dreams. I've tried to run searched on my laptops in dreams only to be utterly frustrated by "the stupid broken computer"

Sometimes you just hate it when you knew afterwards how obvious it was that you were dreaming
