Multiple Lds - No Control!

Hi, I haven't been around for a while, with work and such catching up to me - but I have known about Lucid Dreaming for around 2 years now. I know about all the induction techniques and such, and on average I will have a Lucid Dream twice or three times a month. There's only one real problem I have, and the best way to explain it is to recall what happened to me today.

I was having a late afternoon nap (6pm - strange but very effective for inducing LDs) and I got into my first LD using the MILD method. However, when I entered the dream, it was not right. My vision was blurred, as if I was not wearing my contact lenses, and everything seemed fuzzy or pixelated. To make matters worse, the scene was quite dark (it was outside at night) but even inside my room (where the dream started) it was light and I found it very hard to see. I had my other senses such as touch, but to a very limited degree - not at all as realistic as a Lucid Dream should be. On top of that, I woke up abruptly, about a minute into the dream. This was not from excitement, as I have had many Lucid Dreams before and to be totally honest, none of them have ever been as real as waking life.

After I woke up, I was in a state of semi dreaming/awake state. Its hard to explain. But about 30 seconds after waking I would inadvertadly drift back into the same dream, at the same stage, and find the same problems. Every time I would wake up, I would re-enter the dream quickly at the same place. I decided to use this as a good opportunity to try and increase the realism of my dream. I used many techniques described in this forum, including focusing on a point, touching an object and observing its texture, and even dream spinning to keep me in the dream. But each time I just woke up, with no results. After doing this at least 12 times (I lost count) I started to get aggrivated, which was probably why I found it harder and harder to re-enter the dream, until I just gave up and decided to end my nap.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong.....No matter what I try to increase my dream length and realism, it disappears as quickly as trying to hold water in my hands.....and I'm starting to feel as if lucid dreaming is not at all like the real world. It just seems all too....fake. My very first Lucid Dream was the best ever - everything was as real as real life - but I haven't had a dream since that was like it.
