Once I become lucid my dreamscapes change apperance or change back and forth causing blackouts. Also I tried calling out ones name or imagining them behind me, but had no luck with this. I finally flew, but it was nothing amazing because my dreamscape just went kind of blank and I was dissapointed. It was like a gray foggy background. I didn't have this problem with regular dreams. It's like my dreams used to be more vivid before lucid dreaming. What's the point of lucid dreaming if this keeps happening and I have'nt complete control?

One technique that seems to help a lot of people is spinning. Just spin around on the spot like a young child would, and focus on stabilizing the dream. If you focus on changing the dreamscape, it will change too, so if you get stuck in a grey void this is a good way to get unstuck. Shout something out like "Increase lucidity!", which increases control. Also, you can try rubbing your hands together, which also increases stability.
Keep in mind that it might take a while for your dream control to strengthen and increase. Very rarely will new LDers have complete control. It's almost like a skill that has to be learned and practiced to become sufficient at it. It took me several LD's to have more control. So just hang in there, try spinning and hand rubbing, and keep on practicing!

 Dream Control!!! WEEEE!!!! My true territory! You will always have trouble from the start. Blacking Out sounds a bit odd though. I believe you may be trying to force it a little!! Possibly!!! It's really hard to tell. What you wanna do to get better dream control is try some simple things first. My first attempt was informing myself that I was indeed dreaming. Pinch yourself in your dream. If you can't even do that then we may have a problem!! Once you've successfully done this and have informed yourself that you are dreaming, start kicking the shit out of yourself. Oh what fun it is to not feel pain at all!!!! This lets your mind know that you mean business. Now for the good stuff. Hovering. By placing both legs in the air you should instantly come to a hover, or fall. Don't worry, thats where kicking the hell out of yourself comes in handy. Your mind realizes that you can't be hurt. Once you've hovered it's time to fly. Focus your eyes to the ground. It should begin to push you upward. be careful. If you loose control now, you are royaly screwed. Level yourself by looking upward. this helps balance your DC. :yumdumdoodledum: If you need more info, visit my page and just give me a message, I'll do the best I can to get back to ya!!!
