Ok, so i've had a handful of lucid experiences, each one being very similar to one another. The problem is, i've never met any DC's, i've never been to any far out, crazy places, nor have i ever been dreaming and said to myself "hey man, this is a dream" and controlled it from there. Whenever i attain lucidity it's just been an instant, almost out of the blue thing, i have no recall of dreaming before becoming lucid.
All of my lucid dreams have been of me waking up in the dream, and either floating around my house(OBE) or walking in slow motion, or just pure blackness with the awareness of a dream. I often re-enter these states a couple of times after waking up, then fall asleep. All of these LD's have been from the exact location of the place where i'd been sleeping. Whenever i feel the dream slipping away, i try the spinning technique but it does little to help.
I guess what i'm asking is how can i have more control over them, how can i meet DC's or travel to places without waking, i don't feel like i'm progressing at all from the dreams i'm having.
peace

Next time that you become Lucid, don't try and take control. Instead, allow the dream to unfold and just look around for the Dream Characters. In 95% of my dreams, theres always dream characters around. So the best thing to do is, instead of trying to control and force the people to appear, just wait and let them appear like normal.
If your inside your house, walk outside and look around, you should be able to find at least one Dream Character. When your able to get ahold of at least one, ask him/her to introduce you to some people, and they should help create more Dream Characterse for you to interact with.
As far as traveling to new places, that takes a pretty decent degree of control to keep the scene stable, and create something entirely new. What would really help I think, is if you were to each night before you sleep, think of the details of the place you'd like to visit, this way, your mind doesn't have to create it all during a spur of the moment thing, and its already got the ideas for what you want the place to be like.
If you want to force it to change though, i've found the best way to do it, at least with me, is to just close my eyes for a few seconds, and re-open them. 3/4 of the time I find msyelf in a new location. Alot of people reccomend against that because they say you wake up too often when you close your eyes, but I haven't had any trouble with it.

ok thanks, i think my major problem is when i become lucid i think to myself "holy shit, what do i do now" i get way to excited and i seem to always have a strong mental awareness between my physical body and the lucid world, which i think wakes me up.
so next time i become lucid i'll just go with the flow and 'let go'
