I learned Dream Control over 30 years ago (a recurrent nightmare as an adolescent led me to LD and control).

However, last night, I experienced a physical impact of my control cues -- the first time this has happened to me. Each time I affected the events of my dream, I felt as though my body (the one on the bed, not the one in the dream) was slammed -- HARD. I did not wake up; I continued in my dream. Nothing in the dream played out any physical impact for me (no contact with anything or anyone).

Needless to say, by morning, I had gotten very little rest, so I'm functioning in low gear today!

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions on this type of occurrence?

I don't know if this is the same thing you are talking about, but my friend used to beat herself up in her sleep and wake up in the morning not knowing why she was hurting so badly. I think she videod herself and found out what was happening, or someone in her family saw her doing it. Maybe a lack of SP?

This has happened to me numerous times ages go, but I was awake and nearly gone to sleep before it happened. Someone told me that It's something natural, and it'll go away, and it did eventually. I don't know if that's good advice. 1 reason being I'm new to the LDing 'biz'. The other thing is you were sleeping, I was awake.

      Cheers,

      Wow, that's very strange.
I have never heard of that. Maybe whatever you were doing in your dreams was affecting your sleep paralysis and your body was struggling to stay still and sleeping?

This probably happens for 2 reasons:

      1. you are too involved in your dream and won't let yourself wake up when needed. if that happens again, try to wake up immediately and see what's wrong

      2. you are putting too much effort on your control and therefore moving your real muscles. you will probably not move at all, but just using your muscles can create some freaky sensations when you're in sleep state (just like an itch can become a whale when you're WILDing hehe)

when you try to control your dream, try to do it more passively. not being relaxed can get you tired by the morning
