      Flying - The attraction method

      Morning all!

Due to my hectic life over the last two weeks, I've just been getting about 6 hours of sleep a night and no lucid dreams

However, last night I was able to get a full 8.5 hours and a really nice period of lucidity around 7 this morning.

If any of you have read The Art of Dreaming, you will remember one of the tasks given to Don Juan was based on flying. He was to imagine himself drawn to objects in the distance, so, last night I thought I would give that a try.

When I usually fly, it is under my own power, kind of like propulsion.

Last night, I decided I would let object pull me to them. Kind of like gravity. WOW what a rush!

I first focussed my attention on a large tree about half a mile away and let it pull me. It was just like gravity, massive acceleration and speed at the end.

I then tried to focus on a paper mill that was about 5 miles distant and an interesting thing happened. I began to fall toward it, if you can call falling horizontally really falling =P. But by the time I got there, it was gone.
I found that if I focussed on the destination to long that it would disappear.

This happened also when I let a mountatin range attract me.

Probably the coolest thing was when I let an airplane attract me. I focussed on a jet flying by and began to accelerate toward it, but it was like being on the end of a large bungee cord. As I neared the plane, I had to match vectors with it or something, because it whipped me around in an arc and I shot past it and rebounded before closing in on it.

I encourage every one to give this a try. Next time, I'm going to try for something a little more aggressive, like a moon or planet. =P

I've experienced this thing, and I call it "zooming".

Cool thing is - it works with both flying and running (or levitating?)...
You focus on anything and want to get there. As a result, your speed increases exponentially and you reach incredible speed... everything around you becomes blurry, and stretches, leaving traces... Only your target can be seen clearly...

Last time I just targeted the sky and "zoomed" into it. There was no definite target...
What I saw was so freaky and unexplainable, that it kicked me out of lucidity... I remained motionless and fell in a LD again... Then I tried it again and got the same thing... There was something wrong about the sky and clouds.....

I belive it happened because I had no specific target...

Another thing seeker mentioned - there's some kind of inertia force present. Once I used zooming to fly to WTC and I spent about a minute, trying to adjust my speed to land on top... I was kinda like bouncing around unable to stop...

Wow I never heard of this before. It sounds cool though. Probably the most similar experience I had to this was when I was learning how to fly. I could start flying in one direction and speed but I wouldn't know how to slow down or stop. (Inertia?)

I'll have to try this out when I get a chance though.

I read this thread last night and when I LDed this morning I recalled what seeker had said. I wanted to go into space so I looked up and thought I wanted to go and see space and I know I didn't fly up there, i was more carried at a very high rate of speed and before i knew it all i saw were stars and the blackness of space...like ev, i think this took me out of lucidity and back into a normal dream, I dont quite remember, but it was one hell of a rush..

*sigh* Congrats! I've been trying to make it out into space for quite a while now.

      Maybe tonight!

ive never tried that...the way I fly in (non-LD) dreams is either
1: Run and run and run until i go so fast that I can stop moving my feet and they will drag behind me as I skim across the ground, then slowly lift myself higher until im off the ground.
2: Jumping up and contracting the muscles in my legs and back so that I stay levitating for a while, doing this I can move forward a few feet but not far.

I guess you could always imagine yourself wearing a rocketpack :-)

heres my attempts to fly (none have worked)

1st attempt : guy told me to run over this tin pan filled with quarters then jump through a vortex spinny thing

2nd attempt: just jumping and hoping to keep going up

3rd attempt: getting on a roof top and being pulled to a tree by the attraction method

4th attempt: some huge packaged meat fell over and this guy told me to get this object that he threw (didnt work but i did fall through the ground into a black abyss)

im going to try again tonight when i become lucid!!

You may try verbal command to start flying.
And I guess using this technique requires knowing how to fly.

Or you can use the Douglass Adams method. Throw yourself at the ground and miss

I tried doing this on Tuesday(I had 4 LD's!!!! ) and got some pretty cool results. I started to fly and remembered this thread and so I kind of zoomed in some mountains that were near the horizon. I didn't make it so that they were pulling me, at least it didn't seem that way, but the fact I was concentrating on getting there made me fly at a tremendous super speed(one of the best feelings ever!)

I also tried doing this same thing but running, but I had some problems doing that...Still the whole thing worked pretty good and I shall try the flying thing again next time(too cool not to)
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

ok this was little strange, my first night to attept this "zooming" well it didn't work as i planned. i thought of a feild and dark skies and a moon before i went to bed. well to cut it short. i was looking down this pipe that was cut off at the basement i went to the basement to look up it (maybe 1" n diameter) then to back up stairs. i noticed something different upsatirs and i zoomed through the pipe and went through the floor of the basement to a new world n a field lol.

Wow! that is a great piece of advice, Seeker!

When i fly...as i do it alot in dreams, i just 'fly', when i think about flying it becomes harder, and i wake up...i guess it would be just like getting up to walk across the room, i jump off the ground and 'just fly'...

i think thats how I am LowerCase, anytime I've WILDed ive started out floating or flying and I dont really control it, i'm just doing it, almost more natural to me than walking in my dreams, although sometimes its more of a float and thats when its harder to control for me.

Seeker, since zooming seems to work for you try going for the moon, it will give you something to focus on and its out in space. perhaps try adding your own steam to letting it draw you to it as well.

When I first shot for space I managed to get myself in orbit in the beginning by flying really fast and I just kept going higher and higher, the view from up there is awsome, though one of the times I watched as a giant meteror smashed into the south china sea, that wasnt all to pleasant.

View from the moon is cool too

Yeah anyways, TO THE MOON!!! leme know if it werks =D

Well, had a little lucid time to kill this morning, so I thought I would see what position worked best for me when using attraction.

I tried head first which worked really well, then feet first which didn't work as well, but...
What really worked best was when I was perpendicular to the object I was attracting to, like you would be when walking to it.

I also noticed energy focusing around my assemblage point. I'm going to have to get out my Carlos books again and read up on the assemblage point again, there is something to that.

I've been concious of this point before in dreams, but in the last month or so, have become increasingly concious of it while I am awake.

Anyone else have experience with manipulating your assemblage point?

Now that i think about it i remember levitating a lot when i was a kid in my dreams like in elementary school. I would kinda just bring my knees up like in a sitting position but my upper body would remain where it was, and then id just kinda shoot across the playground . It was somewhat recurring, I think. Ill try it again next time im lucid and maybe ill convert it to flying .

I had a lucid dream about a week ago in which I decided to once again use this method, pretty much because it is so damn fun and exiting. I first used it focusing on some mountains far away on the horizon and my speed increased dramatically as I lunged towards them. Then I paused and decided to try something even more fun: Using the attraction method upward...all the way into space. I started use it and was pulled upwards at an amazing speed. I got higher than I have ever been(in a LD or course...). It felt incredible. Unfortunately, I couldn't get all the way to space, as I found some sort of weather baloon/platform or such way up high. I started to play with it and see what it was, and then decided to take it down into the sea. When I got all the day down there I lost my lucidity and became a girl

Anyway, this method is truly amazing, and is one of my personal favs...
