      Time Control

Has anybody been able to control the time in their lucid dreams?

I've heard this is pretty difficult, but if mastered, extremely fun to play around with.

Depends on what you mean. It's easy to travel through time or stop/slow/speed up time in your lucid dreams if you want to. That's all just a matter of believing in yourself and being creative like all dream control.

If you're talking about making a 10 minute dream seem like a lifetime in your dreamworld, then it's a different story. After all, that's more (or at least partially) a matter of control over waking reality. I couldn't tell you how to do it or even if it can be done (by will). All I know is that in most dreams, dream time is roughly equivalent to waking time (this has been tested) and that dreams that seemed to last for years are likely to be short experiences of different "times" with blanks in between.

      Slow motion is sweet.

Going back in time is cool sometimes too

Never tried going to the future before though, just never had a reason to I guess.

I had a lucid dream where I rewound time and had it play back at different speeds. To kind of affirm that I was rewinding time and give it a kind of physical trigger, I did like a reverse twirling motion with my two index fingers, and stopped whenever I was as far back as I wanted time to go. I think there was a DC that was next to me though that wasn't affected by it, but the rest of them were definitely. It didn't seem very difficult at all, so I don't think it's much harder than doing anything else in an LD.

I have recently been having lucids where I make a mistake leading to something bad. When this happens I have been going back to the beginning of the scene and repeating it. Two nights ago I went back over the scene 3 time before I got it right.

As far as how I do it, it's all about visualization and a relaxed mind. If you try too hard you're almost sure to wake yourself up. Try taking a deep breath and remembering what just happened. I always close my eyes while I do this and when I open them again I am there again. Stopping time is achieved in the same way, for this I usually extend my hand in front of me and will everything around me to freeze.

I have never tried messing with the future but I have heard of a couple ways to do it. There was a lucid task of the month that was about going to the future and seeing the end of the world : Lucid Task For The Month Of November 2006 .

Maybe check that out and good luck, Peace.

before i really knew anything about lucid dremaing i was able to turn back time when bad things happened or when i wanted another shot at something. it was acutally the trigger that got me my first unintentional LDs.

Yeah I've had a lot of dreams like that before. This one time I had a dream where I had to find all these time bombs planted in this building. I found most of them but ran out of time, so I rewound to the beginning and found every single well hidden bomb in a matter of minutes. The bad guys were pretty pissed that I knew exactly where they all were.

I haven't rewound time or paused, ffwed etc. but I have slowed down time. Once I slowed down time so everything was going slow motion including myself, which was annoying. I then tried to let myself go normal speed and it worked! It was odd watching everyone/thing in slowmo but then being normal yourself!

Whoaaa that sounds like a real achievement.
Altering your whole perception like that adds a bunch more possibilities doesn't it?
You think it can be done?
