      changing scenes with spinning?

      hey everyone.

does anyone have any really reliable way to get where ever i want in my dreams?
im working on FILD atm..so i will become lucid in my bed but whats an effective way of getting around

i tried spinning once...i looked at the floor it turned into the beach i wanted and then back to the floor where I was. anyone know how to fix this problem? id say spinnings advantage is that you can do it anywhere...unlike flying

is flying reliable for anyone though? i can fly pretty well i think.

any other scene changing reliable methods would be appreciated

Spinning is very reliable for me. I decide where I want to go, close my eyes and spin HARD. I usually end up where I want to go, but feeling slightly ill when I get there.

Flying works. Two other ways I like changing scenes is by approaching a door and "knowing" what's on the other side is where I want to be, and by passing through a mirror - which has become my favorite.

ah thanks PJ...so you shut your dream eyes and spin? i kept mine open.. i guess if you want to increase lucidity you keep em open and to change scene you could shut them.

what do you do about your spinning sickness? haha

and what is on the other side of mirrors? do you use them just like a door?

Well, I get motion sick in RL, so that's probably just a carryover. Shouldn't need to happen, but it does. When I spin, I spin as hard and fast as I can, immersing completely in the sensation. I use it now more as a way to keep from waking up than transporting.

Yes - I use mirrors like doors... just pass through them and "know" where I'll end up. It is a wonderfully weird sensation, passing through a mirror.

I had one pretty long lucid where I combined these. I was in a house, and "knew" there was a room full of mirrors. I went through the door and was in it, then went through one of them to get outside so I could do one of the lucid tasks. Later in the dream I came back to the room... and found a sentry outside the door keeping anybody from going in!

I've never had luck with flying anywhere. For some reason, when I fly, I usually fly slow, and I have trouble going faster-- it's just never worked for me getting to a place that I couldn't actually see in my field of vision. The suggestion of looking around a corner seems like it would work really well, although I've never actually tried it out myself. I have had luck finding people I wanted around corners, though-- and that's pretty much the basic idea, so I'd definitely try that.

Spinning... I only managed to use spinning to get somewhere else once. I didn't close my eyes either (I'm always afraid to close my eyes in lucid dreams. It usually results in a loss of lucidity or waking up or something else of that nature for me). I found that if I concentrated on the sounds I expected to hear in the new place, it helped the scene change. All the other times I tried it without thinking of the sounds I didn't get anywhere at all.

Mirrors seem cool. I'd try that one out too if I had a chance.

flying is easy for me. just try this

pretend your diving into a swimming pool.. jump like that, arms first ....
try to jump forwards and parralel to the ground...
you will find yourself launching to the floor, and then you just pull up

when I fly, I used to have to lay on my back, but with practice I just jump with a fairly descent amount of force and I can propel myself hundreds of feet off the ground. So another way to do it is to lay on your back and imagine you are floating. Just a thought.

Take a gander at my topic up top.
      "new teleportation method"
      Might help

Whenever I want to change the scenery or an aspect of the scenery (usually time of day for me), I just turn my back to it, will it to change to whatever, and then turn back and it usually works. If you want to change scenes completely, maybe you could try that times two, so that you get both "halves" of the scene, if you get what I mean. Or maybe the other half will just generate itself when you turn around for the first time. This technique also works for summoning people.
It might help if you're having trouble to go into a building or something, so you can't see what's outside, then step back out.
