So.. how do i fly in my LD's?
I've tried the following:
Thinking in my mind "FLY!"
Just simply trying to lift my body up
Getting others from my dreamworld to throw me
None working, i can get in the air a lil bit, but not much more.

Honestly I fly without even thinking about it.. I simply have NO DOUBT that I can. I either start running at full speed, leap into the air and think "up" or I jump into the air from someplace high.
Believe that flying is possible and it will happen!
Below is a tutorial on various methods of flying:

.
tell the ground to fall away
You simply must believe....rather expect it to happen. If you expect it to happen in a dream you can do almost anything. Have complete confidence in yourself...it's your dream after all :)
When I fly, I just do. It's such a natural thing in the dream realm that the worst thing you can do is over-think it. Don't think it, do it.
How do you fly in a dream? You fly!
Usually I run and jump and continue to do so until I fly. Or do backflips until I catch in the air. Or... the one time I leapt from a cliff and said something like, "Come one you stupid bitch, FLY!!!" and I flew.
It all boils down to belief.
If you still can't, find a fairy and sprinkle fairy dust on yourself. That always works.
billybob has a good thread on control, go look at it.
man, all people above made it way too hard (sorry guys I don't mean to sound harsh :D)
simply jump... jump high and start to fly
try to feel the same way you feel when in a pool: swim in the air
there are other techniques, but that is the easiest
As stupid as it sounds, capes definatley work the best for me. I just whack a cape on a that is, at the moment anyway, the easiest way for me to fly
Or compare your situation with the scene in Matrix I, when Morpheus stands with Neo on the top of a skyscraper and tells him "free your mind"

I just do it, all I think is, "right I want to fly", then I just jump up and go. Maybe you should just try to let go. Imagine being weightless and do it.
The first time, I tryed to simply jump and start flying like Neo, only to fall down to the ground. After that didn't work, I started at the top of several stairs, got a running start, and jumped off the top step. I didn't go very fast, but hey; I flew. From there I had no problem controlling it, though I had to swoop down and up again to gain speed.
The only method thats worked for me in my admittedly short lucid career is the running start/gliding method. I'd suggest you start with that.
Exactly, if you put loads of effort into it, you are basically doubting the fact you can fly, so chances are you wont.
Dont THINK you can, KNOW you can.
Again from the matrix and its pretty much spot on for me.
Just THINK ok ill fly here....then DO IT...dont think about it.
I've only done it twice but from what I can remember, I just jumped into the air. Punching a fist into the air like Superman can help too.
how everybody says "i just do it"
but what i do is just jumping and knowing that you are going to continue in the air.
the most important is knowing that in dreams anything is posible!:)
I simply levitate. practice reaching out with your mind and moving objects through the air. Once you have a grasp on how to do that, simply move your self the same way. It's very fun, and you will have perfect control.
Think of it in terms of other things you can do. What supernatural abilities have you mastered in dreams?
I get progressively better at it:
First Flying Attempt: I hovered 15 feet above the ground, I sort of swam slowly like through syrup.
Second: I used a wing technique, like gliding. It was slightly better but still shaky.
Third: I visualised a distant object (lamppost) and I pulled myself toward it.
Fourth: I was escaping from an invictus, homicidal DC so I didn't think much of what I was doing. I jumped out a window and and flew away easily, propelled by energy.
My two points are, you get better with practice, and my best result was to throw myself at the sky and hope for the best.
Flying in the air is just like swimming! If you're having trouble flying, (and you know how to swim) just imagine swimming through the air.
I do that sometimes and it works well for me... When I start I just sort of breast-stroke with the arms and get "pulled" through the air. After each stroke I sort of just leave my hands down against my sides. As I fly a bit more, I need to take fewer and fewer strokes, until eventually I'm just flying through that air with my hands against my sides the whole time.
I just kind of think to myself that flying is easier than walking anf then just float off.
Taking a blasé attitude towards these things is always best I find.
in my dream i just control stuff by saying "i wish ..." so in this case try say i wish i can fly and hopefully it'll work . :)
