A dream DG or just a smart DC

I just finished reading a thread about DGs, and it made me think of this
DC who's in my dreams, not every day, but quite often, and I think they could possibly be a DG. The reason I think that is because, in my dreams they are very
friendly and helpful, I was lost once and they helped me find my way. they also show me
things sometimes(for example it showed me this pretty painting once). They always seem so sure of themself, like they know
what they're doing. I only remember talking to it a few times, and it seemed very smart. I never heard it say anything strange. Could it be DG or do you think it's just a really smart DC. The DC also looks like a known person in the world, thats why I kind of doubt they're a DG. Can DG look like a person you know of?

I'm no expert on dreamguides, but I'm pretty sure they can be anybody, including people that resemble you. As for whether this DC was actually your DG or just a smart DC, I'll have to let someone smarter than me answer that

You can't give any evidence for the existence of dreamguides. At least, not as far as I know. That doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist though. Just that no one really knows. It leaves things to the imagination. Yay for speculation.

In my last lucid dream I made pink sparks between my palms. I was trying to make a white ball of energy...

DGs aren't some magical spirit god or something... it's usually seen as a manifestation of your subconscious. It's supposed to be the "god" of your dreams. There's nothing special or supernatural about them.

My theory is that you, not knowing of DG's, didn't know that most DC's are considered unhelpful or vacant. DG's are only DC's that you, upon hearing of them, create and place all the helpfulness because you expect them from then on.

Still, isn't the entire dream a manifestation of your subconscious?

Yes, but the DG is supposed to be a manifestation of the "persona" of your subconscious. It's the intelligence controlling the dream.

Hmm ok, thanks. I see no reason why that shouldn't be possible. In fact I might have met a DG.

Ask him/her/it. They'll tell you if they are.

He couldn't have been your dream guide then. Dream guides don't exist unless you know what they are.

What they are: simply a character in a dream that shows you around, it can be anyone, all of your dream characters are just manifestations of your subconscious anyway. It doesn't even need to be someone you know, just a random person.

A dream guide is a construct of you're own mind, just like everything else in dreams. Its not something that instrinsically exists for everyone. You have to willingly create it.

Well, there's only one way to find out: ask it if it's your DG!
