Unintentionally, I successfully incubated a scene into my dreams!
I was lazing about in the sun yesterday when I decided I would pretend I was having a lucid dream. I did this to sort of re-familiarize my mind with the feeling of a lucid dream. I imagined a whole little adventure, moving through my neighborhood and reliving moments of my childhood in the different houses my friends used to live in. In the most vivid part of this day dream I was in my childhood friend's home imagining every sensory detail I could (the feel of the tile floor on my bare feet, the smell of the kitchen, the voices of her family, the bark of the dog, etc.) There were three rooms that held my primary attention, and later that night I had a dream that took place in those three rooms! The characters and storyline of the dream had nothing to do with my daydream, but I had built the environment which my subconscious supplemented into the dream! The potential!
Anyhow, I suppose I will try this again. And you might try it yourself. Build an environment in your mind, with detailed sensory, and probably attach an emotional stigma. A specific situation from your childhood might be preferable. Good luck! if you trust me enough to try this of course
